Welcome to hetronormative world.
All of the couples were also same-race, so welcome to hetroracialnormative world.

Echoing these sentiments. Though scanning through the thread, there are people who are either getting way too offended by this, or acting way too offended by people being way too offended by this. Chillax, people. As a fellow gay player, while I can understand being upset or left out at the lack of representation in a holiday event like this, I don't understand why you'd be outright offended by it. In the end, players last year were asked to trade chocolates with opposite gender PCs. I don't necessarily think that's an offensive concept. They said this year they weren't going to do that (make you trade with opposite gender characters). But we know that SE isn't against LGBT characters in the game. We had an openly gay couple crop up in the Wanderer's Palace HM questline, we had the Rising Vendor from last year who talked about her wife, and there have been others as well.
I do think it would have been nice for them to represent a same-sex couple in the event, but its obvious that they're not against same-sex relationships in game.
People on both sides of this are acting like children trying to be more offended as if it's some kind of contest.

I'm going to have to disagree about the importance you place on people unlocking dungeons. I am all for lore, and reading quests, however even I have been guilty once or twice on patch days of just rushing through CSes to unlock the new dungeons. Additionally, I did watch the WP HM quest unlock scene, and at first all I thought was "Oh hey, two guys wanting to help out the Tonberries, how nice." My first thought was NOT "Hoshit SE be insertin' dem homosexuals into my lore." Or... Anything at all beyond them being two guys... Standing together... Which, as far as I know, wouldn't equate to gay.

Can we please not have a heated debate about homophobia every single time ? It's a seasonal event, you get your loot and you go on with your life.
I'm gay and am not offended by this, grow a pair. (Unless, of course you enjoy the attention.)
Regards
While I understand this, I made my own heart screenshot with my male character and his husband u.u/ so I created my own V-Day and satisfied my needs this way![]()

would've been cute to see, nothing more, nothing less.

I thought the event was terrific. It was tasteful, humorous, and cute. As a gay person, I certainly did not feel offended or excluded at the lack of a gay couple. Why? Because this is a game. Furthermore, I appreciate love in all of its forms. OP would be wise to do the same if he expects it in return.
Honestly, threads like this are embarrassing and I cringe every time one pops up.

Thank you for the monthly forum privilege check, forgot to check mine for a moment there.
The point is, more people do dungeons than the seasonal quests. On top of that, this quest is only there for a week. After that, everyone new to the game and catching up and making alt characters will be unlocking dungeons and doing that quest. Yes, that quest does have higher visibility than the Valentione's one.I'm going to have to disagree about the importance you place on people unlocking dungeons.
