Since giving us more inventory/storage options seems such an impossible feat...

Could you at LEAST allow us to trade items among characters on the same account already? Seriously, the RMT threat is not going to make more of a win out of it than us honest players would.

You said the armoire is reaching its capacity.

You have yet to give us any answer whatsoever regarding the Armoury Chest or Inventory expansions.

You have given us only the option to have at most four retainers, and for a real cash fee at that too.

New jobs are incoming, gear seems to be staying shared by at most one or two jobs, and every patch comes with new sets for all slots, not to mention the seasonal events like Heavensturn which come with four of the same thing in four colors, when you could just give us one that we can dye.

My inventory is choking, and I'm approaching the point where I'm considering skipping some content because I simply do not have the space to keep the loot that'd drop from it.

So please, at the very least, allow us to share items with other characters, including untradable/unique gear of course, because that's what is bringing most of the issue: the Unique Untradable stuff that I can only toss and then pray for the RNG god to let me have again should I want it again in the future.

It will not fix the issue, but at least it'd ease the stress for a little more time before we return to remind you of how absurdly low this game's data capacity is for the content it offers.

The innate trade off of allowing one character to switch freely among classes on a single char, is that there will be less characters on any given account. Yeah some people max out 8/8 chars on a server, but most have only 1 char on an account. Why? because there is no need for having more than 1 char on an account from a calculating standpoint.

Why is the game design so stingy on inventory space, given there is far less individual character data than on most other games of the genre. We have 20 classes. we essentially need 20x the space, furthermore we are barred from freely sending items between characters on the same account to utilize this lack of foresight or inconvenient cash grab.

I couldn't agree more. I like to collect gear sets for glamour purposes, but where am I supposed to put them all? We can't buy dungeon gear back from the Calamity Salvager, so temporarily ditching it to make room isn't an option. I have seasonal gear that STILL can't go into the Armoire.

If you're going to give us the option to play all classes on a single character, then we also need to be given the inventory space to match.

At this point I'm very seriously contemplating making alts for different jobs simply because I don't have the room to store all of the gear on my main.

You know, if a glamor catalogue that saves all the gear memory that you can use for later is too much hassle for se. Why not just add an npc that sells all the dungeon gear but you need to do a dungeon x amount of times to be able to buy them. Can have achievements for the check. Kinda like calamity salvager for event gear.

I got 2 additional retainers - and one retainer is ONLY for my glamour gear and materia - there is no space. One retainer has all miner stuff another leather and animal stuff and one botanist an cooking stuff -uuuuuuh and with all 4 retainers I still am lacking space... Please do something about it. And I love to have event stuff, and i got last hadsets from the sheep thing and I still can't put it in the armoire.... please I really need more space or something...

If you haven't figured it out by now, the reason for the limited inventory is to cut costs. We get 300 slots in our armory, 100 slots of inventory, 200 slots of retainer space (for free), 15 slots for key items, 10 soul crystals, 14 equipment slots, and 18 slots for shards/crystals/clusters. That's not counting things like Mailbox, Market Board, Chocobo Barding, and retainer equipment space. That's 657 inventory slots per character. And its not as simple as "Has item: 1, Does not have item: 0". Your regular items have data on condition, spirit bonding, dye, creator (for signature), glamour, and custom stats (like aethereal gear and relics). What this means is the memory required to store all this data is much greater than the common player may think, and thus, the server costs go up the more inventory space you allow. The two paid retainers are a way to cut the costs somewhat, by adding a fee for the memory your using, and whether or not you think inventory costs should be covered under subscription fee is an entirely different topic of discussion.

I can assure you that, as an owner of four retainers, with all jobs leveled, just by collecting -only- green/blue gear from lv15 and up, I do not have enough space to store anything past ilvl80.

(I'm still in the process of gathering the ilvl70 stuff, so the last four pages of my fourth retainer are still not occupied by gear as I keep them in my inventory to make sure I don't double-buy/double-bid. But once I'll have them all, I have no idea where I'll be able to put the ilvl75-100 stuff I've collected so far. I'll probably need to give up the GC gear...

maybe if you had every peice of a gearset, you could drop it into a box so it only takes up one slot
