Buying them for Poetics would make a hell of a lot more sense.
I've already bought all my Poetic pieces, so generally I'm just spending them on alt classes now that I probably won't be playing anytime soon.
Same. I refuse to buy the poetics Fending accessories and am now spending poetics on my Scholar.
Poetics doesn't make sense. If you buy both the armor and upgrade with the same currency, it may as well just be augmented to begin with and not need an upgrade. I think it would make more sense if bloody logs and unmarked logs could be obtained with company seals in addition to allied seals, so you could save up via provision missions, leves, hests and fates.
For people who want Carbon twines/coats handed to them, why exactly must you have i130 gear? The same place has been dropping them for 3 months, and that same place is the only place you 'need' gear for. Everything else is /faceroll.

Just because its the same currency doesn't matter. "Here's the bland equipment, but for a special price you could further enhance it" doesn't seem like a big stretch for me, either.Poetics doesn't make sense. At the end of the day it's still currency that has a weekly cap on it and gives us that delicious slow progression SE loves so much while Hunts on the other hand isn't nearly as slow as you can upgrade multiple pieces in the same week.
If focusing on one thing, bragging about it, using it as a put down for other players, while ignoring 95% of the other features of the game makes you elite....
wait what why are we calling them elite?
I wish they'd make all Top tier raid gear 5 levels higher, not just the weapons. So Hardcore raiders would shut up about casuals getting their gear.
Are casual players really doing hunts? From what I see most hunters are the hardcore types. 3000 is a large amount of seals to obtain and casuals seem to fail at getting too hunts while the hardcores have better networks and 3rd party apps to demolish the hunts before the casuals can get to them. So how casual are hunts really? Seems to defeat the purpose.
They are doing something similar to this with Alexander in 2.0. However, it doesn't change the fact that people in this very thread are asking to ease the rate at which they can obtain top tier gear to a rate that is completely out of balance with the quality of the reward and the rate you can obtain it at. Not just for more options, but easier in general. It's not just about raiders wanting to have top tier access. It's about people entitled who think it should be easy to get gear at that level quickly. These things are paced out to take time for a reason. It has nothing to do with elitists wanting to have exclusive gear. It's called game balance. Something a lot of people in this thread clearly don't comprehend or willfully ignore.
