I can't see Iceheart as the Sin since she is the one who guided us to Midgar and warned us that something is wrong with the current Ishgard.

My best guess is that the Sin involves Ishgard allying themsleves with the Ascians or at least perform the Ascians work.

    Speaking of appearance...

A fun little note about the 2.5 Part 2 section of the 2.5 trailer is that in the 2.5 Trailer you'll notice there is a mysterious Elezen Dragoon wearing a Black Dragoon Armor and wielding the Dragoon AF Weapon watching the Dragon's assault on Ishgard. I'm guessing that is Estinien from the Dragoon Job Quest.

I'm sure this "sin" probably involves something that split Ishgard and the dragons apart; they could have been on friendly terms (or at least neutral) and one side did something to the other that sparked the never ending war.

Based on interactions with Ishgardians I would totally join on the Dragons side if given the option.

Mayhaps the real reason for the war between the Dravanians and the Ishgardians is the Ascian, maybe he has been fuelling the fires of war and getting rid of him will allow us to start on the path of reconcialition between the two factions or has hatred become so ingrained that the war will continue regardless of the Ascian getting evicted?

Taking Ishgard out of the picture increased the possibility that the Ascians other plans would succeed, divide and conquer so to speak. Albeit, they havnt as of yet of course due to, probably, unforeseen circumtances. As stated Ishgard was a part of the Alliance at one point as Minfilia hopes to get them to rejoin. Don't forgot the troubles behind Ul'Dah.

The fall of Empires throughout history fell not from the enemy without, but from within. The alliance combined is strong. Each city state taken out of that alliance weakens, Ishgard was removed from the Alliance, Ul'Dah is being broken from within. Divide and conquer. Due to Ul'Dahs ruling sructure was, more than likely, the easiest one to infiltrate.

No it definatley resembles the Wyvern pet from the Dragoon in FFXI

It was a smash into my face (as i loved the DRG in FF11)

well hopefully midgardsormr minion is becoming a new skill in Heavensward for DRG (in a bigger version) that if you call that wyvern pet you transfer 25% of your damage potency to it. And it heaving healing and fire breath like in FF11. Would be aussum^ if you dont like it, you dont have to take it out

    but well.. it seems doutbful..

Never cast judgment until you hear both sides and come to your own conclusion.

Ishgard has been at war with the dragons since they first settled in cortas it started when a great wyrm attacked them he lost his eye to their king the first asura dragoon. But we barely know the dragons side because despite their long lives I doubt they'd continue for this long unless they were about to start something big that can shake the realm.
We just don't have enough info to know which side is right.

Also there are a lot of dragons and their very strong I'm sure if they really just wanted to burn Isgard they'd have done so years ago.

And the fact that it was originally Isgard that started the Eorzean alliance during Almahigos invasion for the Black shroud and they closed them selves off during the Garmalds invasion blocking all type of communication says there's something very wrong going on the Acian presence just proves this fact.

I meant the ancient sin committed by the Ishgardians that royally cheesed off the dragons

thoughts? speculations? im not really a lore know-it-all so maybe im missing something, and if i am please let me know~
    SPOILER ALERT

So at the end of one of the patch MSQs, we see Ishgard is affiliating with Ascians. Then in the JP version of the cutscene with Midgardsormr, he refers to them committing not only sins in the past, but presently as well.

I've also heard (unverified) that a certain song about All of My Children might be referring to dragons rather than the five races.

I don't think the dragons are bad guys, personally. We'll start to find out in a few months!

At this point, I'd be disappointed if another twist isn't waiting for us in part 2 to leave us looking for 3.0. It's not that easy to tell whose side we're supposed to be on as it is.

there's definitely some double or even triple meaning in that song.
"Look to those who walked before to guide those who walk after" could easily refer to out interaction with Midgardsormr and Iceheart/Shiva on top of any other references to the warriors of light, in addition to the meta reference of 1.0 players guiding 2.0 players :P

Which is what the Sin I am talking about.

It is possible that Ishgard founding and past actions by their ancestor may have involved the Ascians as well.

The Ascians have been setting their plans in motion for hundreds of years after all.
