personally i think as a game ffxiv already has like way more exclusive content than many other games i've seen
and it isnt even old as most of them
and were still going to get a bunch more limited/exclusive content in the future what with every holiday event and whatever other reason they can think of to throw this stuff at us
im not really sure why people desire these "i was here before you" tokens/items/paraphenelia honestly the concept escapes me
if anyone with an understanding of this wants to tell me about it im willing to listen
but all in all im on the fence about these sorts of things

Aren't all (or almost all) holiday events item on the MogStation now? Not what I'd call exclusive.

I'm indifferent either way, but if the tattoo looks nice them I'm all for it.

I'm not a huge fan of exclusive items, but when story forces hand I think it makes sense and should be such (when the clock ticks only forward, and events do not repeat or contain themselves to your timeline alone).

If there was an event leading up to the expansion that made sense for a mark of great magic or what have you, and it wasn't related to a repeatable/non-fixed time, then it would make sense to be restricted to that event (imo). They could add a tattoo earn-able by just acquiring heavensward and doing the main storyline to heavensward point too of course, but I'm not sure how they will tell that story and if it would make sense to be repeatable or not (say Coerthas changes significantly or something to the like).
