For each of the first 4 pictures, I thought, "This one gets my vote!" When I got to the 5th picture, I realized there was a problem. When I finished the album, I panicked. Without question, this was the hardest round to vote for. I actually devised a scoring system based on multiple criteria, and it was still very close. Every single entry this week is excellent and deserving of a vote, so you all deserve my sincerest applause.
That said, I had to narrow it down to 4, and my votes are as follows (in the order in which they appear in the album):
Froody Toody - Your choice of outfit is what stood out the most to me. The bright yellow evokes real-world biohazard gear, and those gloves look like thick, rubber gloves with which you could safely pick up even the most toxic of substances. The vivid color stands out wonderfully against the drab background, and although you're dead center in your shot, the balance is nice with how the background frames you.
Raquelle - I like the pose, and I think it fits well with the overall theme. I'm not sure if you're adjusting your mask, coughing, or struggling to breathe, but I can imagine you doing any of these things, and it brings the scene to life for me. My biggest critique is your gear. Although your bandana matches, the fact that you are wearing current poetics gear implies that you did not put thought into the wardrobe (even if you did). Still, the pose and the overall composition (you're centered, but the angle of the background is nice) of the image are wonderful, and you get my vote.
Sam - I love this pose. I am genuinely worried that you did not make it out of there unharmed. I wish that we could see more of your face, but that's OK. The colors are drab throughout the picture, and more contrast would have been nice. I do like the outfit though. I think you nailed the theme, and for that, you earn my vote.
Xyhr - Beautiful shot. The vivid reds of your gear and the muted greens of the backround really make you stand out. This plus your placement along the right third of the shot really bring the attention to you. I love the look of surprise on your face, but I think that you could have done more to convey the theme.
My critiques for the rest of you (bearing in mind that I still love all of your shots):
Brun Hilda - Your pose is great, and I love the color choice for your mask. You hit the theme well, but I think the shot could have been framed better.
Koriander - Such a wonderful pose! The sneezing really makes me feel like you are there, and I love the background. I really wish that you were more prominent in the picture though. You did follow the rule of thirds, but unfortunately, the focus for me is on the mushroom, not on you.
Midge - I love this shot, but I think you get too easily lost in it. Some better contrast (with colors) or different framing might have helped it.
Sylvie - It's a beautiful shot, but I think having you a little to the left would have framed it better. I really like your outfit, but the colors unfortunately pull you into the background rather than help you stand out from it. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to pick up on your sense of purpose for why you're in the shot and how it relates to the theme.
