Why so much new house content as casual rewards?

Yep, I just posted about this in another thread:

I was actually considering starting a thread about this (sort of). It really looks like there's a disconnect between Yoshi and the players. Past couple events have had lots of housing items as rewards and not much else. So few have housing, so this seems like a useless event. :/ It's almost like they expected everyone to have housing, somehow, this year and planned the seasonal events for that. ><

Can't you buy a personal room in your FC house for a reasonable price?

Doesn't help when the new housing item is outdoor furnishing. :/
