    Well strike that... so removing my Cisco switch fixed problems until today. The new patch has kicked me twice while my work VPN didn't skip a beat... I would know if I was disconnected while mousing on a remote system. So the new patch (plus or mine old disconnection problems) something isn't right in the state of Denmark... sigh.

    Actually that was the first thing I did. My router is pretty new but my cable modem was old and Comcastic so I replaced that about two weeks after I started having problems. Didn't help.

    For the record, this isn't an issue I have with absolutely any other Internet activity including playing other MMOs. Only FFXIV has this problem. Given that, I tend to discount the possibility that it's any of my equipment at fault here.

    That's good that you did your check. In my case there was bad hardware... unfortunately with the new patch as noted I'm getting disconnected again. And this time its ONLY realm reborn... sigh. So you guys are right somethings not right in their servers.
