Heavensward is coming to PS3 unfortunately. So that whole expansion will still be held back. Its the expansion after that that SE hasn't made any promises about for the PS3. They said they will have to wait and see when the time comes.

When did they say that?
on a different nore, yay ps3 for holding us back even more in future content, since we can't already do too much because every single ps3 player will whine about how it slows them down even more
It was about a year ago before 2.0 was released.
During that time Yoshi-P mentioned they have already planned the Main Scenario all the way up to 4.0 already so they have a plan on what they will release but not time when they will release the planned contents.
FF14ARR is planned to support PS3 until 3.X era and once 4.0 is released they plan on ending PS3 support depending on how things turn out.

I just hope they learned enough from FF11 as to not be locked into a console. While the engine can always be replace on a pc its harder to do so for a port. Hopefully the graphics were down throttled, that way if need be, it can be cranked up in the future to extend its life. Or they could crash another moon into the planet and reboot it as a ps4, ps5 & pc title for 5.0.It was about a year ago before 2.0 was released.

This have nothing to do with the player type. You find the same player type on PC and PS4.
