So what?
The opinion of a player who can't even be bothered to read basic item descriptions shouldn't weigh on you at all.
Even if you do tolerate the such a person through one dungeon, they will inevitably meet people who won't.
I think it's best for everyone to just let the person in question know that they're seriously undergeared for the dungeons and then kick them if they don't understand to leave. "Sorry, but you should unlock your job and get gear close to the dungeon level before entering this instance" should not break anyone's heart. I've only had to do this once though, to a WHM who entered WP with level 21 weapon (and who did not have AF so didn't have their job quests done and their gear was somewhere around their weapon level as well). We explained the WHM that they wouldn't have been able to do their job in that instance wearing that gear, told them they should do their job quests for AF gear and get a proper weapon. The WHM didn't leave (we did give them some time) so we kicked them and got a healer from LS as replacement.

Exactly, I'll even ask if they're on my server in order to craft stuff for them if they're that bad off. But really, they shouldn't be. Even nq level appropriate gear from npcs is not hard to come by.

If im doing a low level dungeon I keep in mind that I might get new players so if I join and the tank/healers obviously don't know what to do I'm kinda crying inside my head and at the same time comforting myself saying "The dungeon will be over in 90 minutes, put on some music and relax"
I have never left a dungeon because of long queuetimes I think but I'm sure I will some day.
When I'm queuing for Ex primals I've quit a lot of times if I see half the group get hit twice by leviathans first jump, or 2 dps dies on first WotL. But I don't know dungeons are so much easier so I keep hoping we will get through

I never give up in these kind of situations lol cuz u know me whm with tank accessories XD.
I'll do my best to make things work but the only bosses that healers can't carry r the bosses that require hard dps checks
I.e hakkuke manor hm last boss, pre nerf early days of demon wall, etc.

Something I would like to add to this. As gamer's we don't always know who is on the other side. This could be a kid, it could be a disabled person, or it could be an adult who just doesn't know the ropes so to speak. Point is good on you for hanging in there. Sometimes the DR is not going to be as easy as we had hoped.I was running bray normal with a tank that had just over 1k hp. Its a lvl 34 dungeon and he was wearing a lvl 15 body piece. Rest of hes stuff was lvl 20-28. He didn't have pld unlocked either.
Early on I noticed hes hp drop extremely fast, which caused me to check him. Well the rest of the dungeon was a nightmare.
I play a healer and our dps's had 1300hp and were holding up better then the tank.
We ended up using the whole time and somehow managed to get to final boss though, but sometimes I wonder if I should just give in and leave in that situation. We wernt able to finish it.
Anyone else ever wonder what to do and end up just toughing it out like I do?
Ha! I don't have any major qualms with leaving if I don't feel like doing a certain dungeon or fight at the time. I remember trying to queue in progress to help some fc members but I got the wrong group. I told them pretty much right away that I didn't want to be there and that I hoped they had a tank they knew that could replace me. I trudged through the first boss with them and then quit. I just said sorry, I'm gonna go now, and then took my 30 min slap on the wrist. I felt a little bad about it, but I really didn't want to be there.
Gear is yuck. But a properly geared gladiator with cross class skills is probably better then paladin in Brayflox. And i have been there where you put flash and other skills on monk and just ignore the tank.
I was leveling my mnk in bray and after a very long wait, got placed in a party with a marauder, whm, and brd. After wiping after every mob up to the initial gate I said this isn't going to work. This was his first class and I taught him how he needs his war soul stone so he can get defiance to help him hold mobs. There's new people who might not have friends or an fc to guide them along in this game, and that's why we have people who aren't aware of their job quests or how important gear is related to dungeon level in this game. I'm happy to teach people as long as they are willing to listen. Sometimes you do just want to leave, but leaving isn't going to fix the long term problem. We voted to abandon and I'm assuming he went off to start his job quest afterwards.
I very much agree with you, all the time I offer my advice to tanks and healers on how to play their roles best. And that's what we should do to condition new people.
I'd say most of them will remain in silence while still keeping on doing their thing, then there's 5 - 6 people out of the year and half I've played that actually listened and thanked me, 2 of them I stayed behind for the entire 10 minutes giving them formulas and tips on the technical and intuition aspect of their roles. And finally, our favorite: the epic response of STFU I know what I'm doing why aren't you tanking/healing.
