It's no surprise really. Arcanist was the last class worked on, so it's no surprise they were also the most rushed and broken. IMO, the Summoner job needs to be completely reworked. Scholor is fine.

Seems like SE just wants to drop Summoner out the window and casually walk away while whistling the Windy theme from Conker's Bad fur Day.
My god, you'd think the end times where coming. It's not like other classes haven't had issues of their own in prior patches.
And you brought Akiza back. Thanks guys, we just fumigated.
And they were usually acted on quickly. WAR was buffed in the next major patch; BLM was buffed in the next major patch; DRG was buffed in the next major patch. . .And for SMN there's been silence.

RIP SMN, MCH Taking over
Machinist is taking the place of Bard but I can see statics having both a Bard and Machinist in their comps in 3.0
This is what you get when you keep 1.0's crappy remnant for a job system: cross crap that limits them when they want to create jobs (hence no base class for the new jobs).
Remember SMN came at the last moment before launch: they wanted another caster dps so the balance was fairly equal (only missed another ranged physical dps). It didn't help when they copy pasted WoW's affliction warlock. It doesn't fit in this game.

Okay. SMN is not in an amazing spot, my post history will attest to the fact i agree with that.
HOWEVER IT IS NOT TRASH.
There is a DPS spreadsheet on my server, of which im 9th place on T13. I can still pull really good numbers.
The issue is that i have to work my ass off, and id most likely do 10-20 points higher as a BLM with as much/less effort. Not to mention both BLM and SMN are leagues behind melee DPS
Spell speed affects Garuda
I haven't had any problem with the new dungeons. The DPS checks in Andapor Keep aren't really hard for Summoner. During the Demon Wall phase just Bane dots onto the surrounding mobs, fester once, then start spamming Blizzard II. The final boss isn't really a problem - I usually leave Garuda/Ifrit on him and dps the adds down myself with ruin and energy drain. For Keeper of the Lake I ran into mana problems, but that was from raising a lot, and being raised.
People, you have to start using Energy Drain. 2 or even 3 stacks if needed. Everything can't be Festered.

Lets not forget all the movement required for misgarmor (i cant remember his name). And as a bonus, the shield doesnt effect egis. So when the boss does that massive AOE screen wipe, the Egi eats it and is dropped to 1/4th of its health and seeing how egi movements are slow and sluggish (Why do egis have turn rates? This isnt Dota, Square...) The pet will most likely die very shortly after as Sustain just doesnt give you the amount of healing you need to come back from the AOE.
