well the way i see them , it seems they hold more like shotguns instead of assault rifles/snipers
so thats why i thought they could do blunt damage since shotguns dont really pierce

Your average shotshell config relies on piercing to create shock, internal damage and exsanguination

Standard rounds don't *penetrate* like rifle rounds but they still pierce.
