You're not SE, so you really shouldn't speak like you are.Uncalled or not, that should teach you not to make hastu decision. Be glad that we still have one chance replacing option. And here you even ask for the second chance? When you buy things, like seriously why you have to rush? It is not like a limited edition or while stock lasts item only, you know? Also there is a prompt text to confirm your purchase again, too bad if you rush through it, then you have to face consequences.

Honestly I think the self imposed consequences speak enough for themselves more than your nagging, they already understand that they've been too hasty, they're probably not going to be as in a rush in the future. You gotta make some mistakes to learn from them, and I'm sure they realize how to handle things in the future already. "They have to face consequences" is kind of redundant considering... they already are!Uncalled or not, that should teach you not to make hastu decision. Ya reason why i would not waste it on something you could just wait to get again. Sadly it not worth wasting your one time replacement.
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together Autographed By "Akihiko Yoshida Tarot Card Sweepstakes Winner

Still puzzled why people are still mis-purchasing things though.
SE made a QoL improvement by having a prompt to warn you about buying things not equip-able by your current class/job which is a suggestion by the player base...

They could do away with the problem entirely if they just did like other games and let you have a short sell back period in case you somehow manage to miss all the warnings and confirmations that you're about to buy the wrong item. Not to defend bad decision making, of course, but it's a QoL feature that should be standard in games like this by now.

Don't waste it on something as cyclical as token gear. Whatever you wanted will be outdated soon enough, presuming you don't get it before then. Save the gear restore for something that really matters, like accidentally throwing away a zodiac weapon.

Let make this service a payment one, and I am sure the number of wrong purchases will drop by 2 orders.
Soldiery?
them are dropping as rain and if I made a mistake I just will purchase the correct thing a little later.
Poetics?
after I ran a full week for the piece I want, I find almost impossible make a wrong purchase.

the one time replacement or reimplement is used only ONCE on the LIFETIME of your account, it is mainly meant to be used to counter hacking or someone logging into your account and deleting everything off your character.
i hate to sound mean but it is truly your own fault for buying something you cannot use, you are now stuck with it until you can trade it for seals or use it with the dragoon class,
when you buy something from the poetic shop you cannot use you get TWO warnings stating that you are buying something you cannot use, these were implemented to stop what you have done, the accidental purchasing.
if you do use your one time resore on something that can take 2 weeks (or one if the cap is removed in 2.5) seems a bit foolish to be honest when it can be saved for the loss ofitems gil, and even the loss of cash shop items (which you can delete) or even the ceremony of eternal bonding when it broke (it cost people the $40 bangles)
so as i said, there are two warnings, please next time pay attention to them they are there for a reason, as for your poetics your going to have to re-cap them to get the chest piece you originally intended for.

Sometimes you just got to have Some fun
Going to have to echo the others here. That was the item you wanted. You told the game twice that it was the item you wanted. Using a one-time item restore for something that doesn't take that much time to get again is the third choice you're likely to regret.
