    Sastasha main story quest.

So I JUST bought the game, and I'm starting to regret this decision as I just got to a point where I can't go further with the main story, because noone seems to be doing the main story at the same time I am. I sat in the queue for 40 minutes once already with no results, and I'm almost 20 minutes in now and still noone else has been found. Has anyone else had problems with this? Or am I doing something wrong?

No, you're doing nothing wrong. The que times for the dps role in this game take a very long time due to how disproportionate the three classes are distributed among the player base.

The only advice I can give you is to make a healer or tank if you want dungeons to que faster. Outside of that, you'll have to join a free company or request help in the chat box if you want to remain a dps.

In duty finder tick all the languages and it can be generally faster to get a party going. Duty finder will gather players from the same datacenter(i.e. chaos etc...). Sadly DSP queues can be slow. Also time when playing might affect your queue times. Best thing to do really is queue up then go do stuff like fates or just something else in game like another class etc...

Really, I was leveling a tradeskill, and ended up filling my inventories, and decided I should sell the items... low and behold I can't even sell the items because I need to progress the main story which I can't do yet. Just very frustrating not being able to play the game after paying for it, or else I have to make a new character to go do this quest and then level the class I want? Silly really.

Well, I'm sorry you're having trouble. I would suggest looking into the game a little more before you buy it. Mmos are notorious for having group only content tied directly into main story progression.

If you felt mislead into thinking that this game was a single player experience then I'm sorry, that kind of sucks. But the trouble you're describing is common among mmos. They are designed to be social in nature.

It's more that you have to complete this very specific quest, that requires waiting for a party for hours, and it's still prior to being able to do anything really.

There is no need to make a new character, you have access to all the main cities you can unlock all the classes while you wait, as well as do all their intro quests, there are a lot of cross class abilities to get. You can also do fates in the area of aleport and swiftperch to level the job up so when the queue pops to enter you have a little more leeway for mistake.

Low level content is still run, and the way that SE incentivized this was by giving rewards for people entering a Duty via a Duty Roulette. Basically, what that will do is roulette them into your instance of Sastasha when you queue up. In addition to this, relic weapon quest lines require people to do certain low level dungeons to complete their relic weapon - so people are certainly encouraged to go back and do the low level dungeons. Just don't expect a full clear, or a leisurely ride as most people want to speed run them, unfortunately.

Unfortunately DPS queue times can be quite long - however stick at it, and you'll get in eventually. I had to wait quite awhile in the queue to get into some dungeons as a Summoner.

I'm not sure I understand why you can't sell items from your inventory. Just talk to any merchant, in any location, and drag and drop the items from your inventory menu to their shop window to sell.

As you're over level 10, I'd suggest switching to another class, as others have suggested, and level it while you are waiting in the queue for Sastasha. You can unlock other classes by talking to their respective Guilds, and then changing to that weapon type.

You're not on my world, but I usually try really hard to run a few low level dungeons (I'm primarily Paladin). This reminds me that I should purposely queue in the lower dungeons since there still is a a large backlog of DPS'ers. (I also have a WAR in the 30's that I am working on too, before there are TOO many tanks, lol!)

As others have stated, explore other parts of the game while waiting around for a dungeon to pop.

Try shouting (/sh) and asking for help running Sastasha. Western La Noscea has some higher level areas in it and is a popular area to fate grind classes, so there are usually people around. I've helped a few people on Malboro that way.

And you have to have beaten Ifrit and joined a grand company before you can pick up a retainer, which is how you sell items on the market board.
