Agreed. But it feels like a lot of people against it kinda miss the point. like this post.
vvv
In general I want more glamour options, and lifting the restriction of the existing gear would help a lot, so, +1to this
That's also a great point. The line between acceptable and unacceptable makes no sense in this game. Just lift it ... what's the worse that can happen? Some random tank running around in robes? Some random healing in armor? IDK how that's worse than seeing snowmen and mogs running around.Right now I would really love to use the Saurian Tabard for a body glamor since it's dyeable, but I can't do that due to the restrictions that have been put in place. But that might ruin the image you say? Well that's funny considering I've been able to use the Foestriker's Tabard as a glamor this entire time.
So yeah, I wholly agree. Restrict job specific artifact gear (which really is the "image" of the jobs), and lift the rest of the restrictions beyond that.
SCH and WHM, WAR and PLD, SMN and BLM all share gear but you can only glamour one item, I'd like this 'fixed' especially.
Great community btw
I can agree that I would like to have glamour restrictions removed, there are some armor I'd like on my MNK, or even the new Wootz armor, for DRG, looks awesome, but I can't put it on my WAR where I really want it, but I do think it needs to be withing reason. I'm not saying Mages can't wear actual armor, but I feel like seeing a BLM or WHM running around wearing Noct armor would kinda destroy the ambiance or however it be put about the class, that being said it is a bit hypocritical as yes, you see WAR/PLD running around as Snowmen or even half naked for, if not pretty much naked for that matter destroying the atmosphere around that class too, but that still somehow being acceptable over vice versa, but I still think there does need to be some base restriction on just how far apart you can glamour the armor. Ah, but sorry people I ended up rambling on my first forum post
There's a difference between missing the point and agreeing with the atmosphere the Developers want to create.
If they wanted to make it even better they would make event gear un-glamourable and then you guys would have even more to whine about.
The game is only a year old, an expansion is on the way, you're going to be getting a myriad of new options to look cool, and at the same time, look like your class.
I wanna wear DoH AF as glamour over my battle classes.
Welcome to the forums! o/ I think you have made a great first post. ^_^
I agree with you. The Noct set and any of the 'tin can' sets would look pretty silly on a mage. But completely locking mages out of ANY heavy armor is also silly.

Agreed.
Devs, please let me glamour the level 15 Acolyte set onto my WAR gear. Nothing like wizard robes and giant axes.
True, I think locking them from ALL heavy armor is a bit silly, but I think it might be more pick and choose than having full sets. I know some people wouldn't necessarily be looking at glamouring their Mage in full metal plating, but maybe more just their leggings, or even the boots. I think people could do some interesting things with the metal Sabatons, or even metal Gauntlets.
