DF and PF has the worst people imaginable. Everyone you meet outside of a duty is pretty chill.

If you meet an asshole every now and then, fair enough. But if you meet assholes all day everyday, then you're probably the asshole. Just saying. "The forest answers in the way you yell at it."

If DF people are your definition of the worst people imaginable, go play WoW. LFR in WoW is an absolute atrocity. It never requires much beyond basic awareness of who's tanking or not. The players have been conditioned to be abrasive and competitive. Abusive chat is accepted as normal. The worst slurs are accompanied with the wretched "grow a thicker skin" admonishment.

In FFXIV, if I say "hello" on entering a dungeon, people typically say "hello" back, and usually say some form of thanks to everyone at the end of the run. This is the only MMO I've played where this consistently happens. Better, sometimes people will even listen to advice or wait on request before starting an encounter. Not always, but sometimes, and that's something.

Bad runs here happen. Had a rather rotten CT1 DF raid the other day, where no one really listened, tried to just faceroll through, and the duty was abandoned at Bone Dragon. They weren't all bad -- at least no one was throwing slurs and abuse around. Queue'd again, next group was amazing. Not super pro, but as a whole the group was polite and cooperative, even waited for people who'd DC'd in one case before starting a boss fight. It made up for everything. The same good stuff has happened in Syrcus Tower as well. You'd think the endgame raids would be prone to the worst. Sometimes they are, but most of the time they're not. It's encouraging.

This is extremely true. Remember this.

I liked Tera's community. Reminded me of 4chan's /b/ board

Anyways, I can't say I haven't seen some of the worst dungeon Partys in FF14 but I also have witnessed lots of fun and entertaining ones.
    So for me its 50/50.

Actually, you're right. Payday 2 has a far worse community. And probably whines a lot more than the people here.

I do my best to minimize my having to play with random groups of people. It helps.

I only started playing not too long ago, and so far that right there is something that's really impressed me. Little interactions like that are great. Not only that, but my first time going into a dungeon, I was playing as a GLD, and not only were the other players patient with me, they gave me pointers and helped me out. Granted I'm still a pretty bad tank, but I'd be way worse if it wasn't for those three. ( ̄▽ ̄ )ゞ

I have run into a few jerks, but not many. People have been overall pretty fun to talk too and play with.

I noticed it's different from server to server. remmeber some servers are also more highly populated than others as well, increasing the chances to find scumbags. i been on pheonix(eu), gilgamish, moogle(eu), odin(eu) and now shiva(eu). the only reall bad people i saw were in odin (eu ) some trash talk in shouts, like fu homo etc for pulling early. i have had no actuall dick heads that i can remember , maybe 1 or 2 person that i didnt wana talk to anymore were addded to my blist over the course of a year or more in playtime. i don't see any propblems with communicty in this game, at least not from the servers i been in. duty finder, u will find rage quiters from time to time, but nothing too serius.
