It hurts those who are trying to make money with shards, no doubt. But crafters? I don't think so. If all bots suddenly disappeared and shards would rise to 500gil per piece.. I wouldn't really like that tbh. It would be either pay a high price for shards or go gather yourself, which is incredibly dull and takes up too much time. And about people who buy their gil - it's just another matter of perspective. The RMT prices are very high, anyone who pays 100$ just to get a couple of millions ingame gil is just plain stupid. Besides, they are risking to lose their account. It's a very high risk/low reward thing and is obviously not worth it.

RMT is a part of the ingame economy, just got to accept it.
