Yeah I hope you're right. On one hand, I'd like to be rid of the lousy players who don't even care enough about winning to do more than 'guard' OP (up until a team of 4-6 wipes them out anyway rendering their time spent standing there doing nothing prior to that pointless) and then AFK after they die. But on the other hand the i100 gear and i110 gear are too alike (and the i100 can be dyed to look even more like the i110 gear than how it starts out when you buy it) and that would be a tremendous FU to the people who worked hard to be able to equip that gear if they subsequently pass it out left and right. And the i90 gear did include a lot of retreads. Like the SMN/SCH weapons which were slightly recolored Titan books. I think the bow might have been a purple version of the adders i55 GC bow I bought a year ago for my first level 50. It's not that hard to get up to at least i40 for all the i100 stuff, pretty much everyone in my LS who runs FL at least a few times a week is there.

The grind is painful. Not enough people have the time to complete the pvp challenge logs. Queues are aweful and if your faction doesnt win often it demoralizes people and you get less PvPers.
With roulette on the way, Wolves Den will be on the rise,
And that PVP ilvl 110 will be ilvl 130 with Materia bonus.
Making it the best gear in the game for PVP
They removed the restriction because they want that newer players can catch up on pvp "endgame" easier, so they dont have to play 300 frontlines to get usefull pvp gear. And since i110 is currently the endgame pvp stuff, they will remove it on i100 for sure. On top of that, they might add rank 46-50 with new pvp gear in 2.5 anyway so that is then the reward for pvping.

That was never said nor confirmed. There was literally no reason to remove the rank restriction from the gear, especially when they effectively KO'd Wolves' Den. The only reason was because it looks generic and nothing more. People who do not PVP should not be rewarded with a true Showmanship Gladiator's garb that's literally meant for showboating in battle. They removed the restriction because they want that newer players can catch up on pvp "endgame" easier, so they dont have to play 300 frontlines to get usefull pvp gear. I can see them lowering the rank requirement, but no, they will never straight up remove it from the animal gear.
Everyone in here saying the grind is painful, try Nexus, try pre-nerf animus. I'm sure you all have, those were ten times worse than the PVP grind, because they're not fun. If you're not having fun with PVP, then you don't deserve the gear, period.

I just did hit rank 45 and i agree to the point that i dont like to see every nub in mor dhona running around with animal gear. But, thats just square enix way of develop this game. There was a time where coil2 gear was unique and you had to be a badass player to get some. And just look what they have done. Coil2 is df-able with randoms and everyone can get this gear now. I mean you are playing this game since start so you should know that square always gives old gear to players like free candies, no matter how hard or how long it did took to obtain at some time in the lifespan of this game.

There's a difference between PVE progression gear and PVP "progression" glamour + sought after gear. They charge money for glamour for gods sake.I just did hit rank 45 and i agree to the point that i dont like to see every nub in mor dhona running around with animal gear. They'll keep it locked behind something, there's no doubt.
