I to tend to think that Odin will be like Shiva or Phoenix. Assuming that Primals = gods, then his line "A God among Men, a Man among Gods" is basically spelling it out for us.

With Odin, did anyone note his original form prior to the first time he was even beaten on a server? His "orignal" form so to speak.
Yes. Back then, people didn't really know the difference between Odin with a player-title and without, so nobody really identified the image with being "actual Odin," but (if I remember correctly), Odin unclaimed with no title appears as an old Duskwight Elezen with his hair tied up and possible facial scarring. It may also be a unique model. Digging through all the images of him I can find, I believe these to be his true form.

Well, that certainly puts a damper on my "Alexander vs Bahamut" theory. It's still possible that Alexander is the Allag Primal rather than the Ishgard one, which means that such a battle may have taken place in the past, but we're unlikely to see Alexander until the expansion now. (calling it now: the floating continent is Alexander)
But, Alexander is summoned by the Goblin tribe, apparently...
Actually they said Alexander is a fortress. He is essentially a giant mechanical fortress that we enter and fight through, presumably to get to the crystal at his core and destroy him (assuming he's actually malevolent, I'm not sure if he will be as the Goblins have thus far been our allies and Alexander is almost always a good/holy summon). It sounds very similar to the Alexander of FFXI though, who was actually a spirit possessing an entire ruin complex. Actually with that in mind I'm wondering if Alexander's physical form was in fact built by the Goblins and they then summoned him into it, much like Iceheart/Shiva.
T13 spoilers:
I'm willing to bet we'll be fighting Alexander Prime at the end too simply because, much like Bahamut, he's too big for us to kill directly. The sudden reveal that Bahamut has a 'prime' avatar needs some serious explaining. Most of all I want to know if killing Bahamut Prime actually destroyed him permanently... Hopefully Alexander can shed some light on that.
But due to Odin assuming the shape of the one who defeated him. That then raises the question of is that his true form, or the form of the one who imprisoned him at Urths?Yes. If I remember my lore correctly, Elezen lived under the shroud and thus it could be feasible that they defeated Odin and imprisoned him, not the Allagans which would explain his "original form". Or Odin was one of the Elezen living un the shroud....
So many questions to speculate upon XD
Nope. It was the Allagans. This happened in the 3rd Astral Era.But due to Odin assuming the shape of the one who defeated him. That then raises the question of is that his true form, or the form of the one who imprisoned him at Urths?

He doesn't mind us conducting trials so close to his bazaar, so long as he's properly compensated... Yes, Portus, we pay him in sorcery-blasted bird flesh. - Cocobygo
