    I hope there is never anything like racial stats. It was a mistake in XI and it will be a mistake here if they decided to put it in. You shouldn't have to pick a specific race to play a class simply because the community will look at you as gimp if you don't. Especially in a game like XIV which touts its main feature as changing classes on the fly.

    i hated this problem in ffxi and them transfering it right over to this game is just gonna piss me off, i'm sorry i want to be able to play all my classes without being lower then other peoples. in other games all people need to do is log off and log into there other class, almost no work involved either. this game needs to make it that easy to switch not punish players with multiple classes. i'm already feeling the blunt of the problem when i'm trying to be the missing class in a dungeon and not able to switch my stats quick enough.and not being able to use my stats for dol or for when i want to hq items cause the moon finally hits cause then my dow or dom will be gimped for later, and it only gonna get worse as more content comes in, we need it to be instant and without a lowered effect. pre battle it all should be equal and it all should be pretty much instant. people who want to have a class no one has needs to get over themselves cause theres a million of u's in the game no matter what.

    also it needs to move faster, we need memory for bars, traits (think they said they adding this soon) and we need memory for gears to, the 3macro bars is just crappy, slow and unessessary, it should all be pretty instant from there side. gw2 looks like it switching moves and weapons in second during battles. we need this for players who play more then 1 class in a day, not right to punish them with lower stats, i hated hitting for less in ffxi when i started using mele classes on my taru, fu and ty.

    p.s. lol they didn't say this would of mattered b4, we chose are race in thinking that, they should give us free new picks of race if so, even give people to pick the new races they adding for free too, we all payed for our box set cause they "needed" money b4 they was ready to launch.

    Quit trying to derail the thread. The discussion is about differences in stats based on race, not the armory system or UI.

    I like the idea of having characters that we identify with and are unique.

    I would prefer more than an arms-length of difference in my character so it doesn't feel cookie cutter like, and having racial attributes depicting some of that difference, aids in that.

    I don't mind a little stat variance, but I don't want to see it game breaking to the point that an undesired race/class combo went so far as to extra gear themselves and still not be wanted for that role.

    So we already have starting racial stats with a few points of difference here and there between each of the races. Keep that same minimum points of difference at max levels too and focus growth purely on the job alone. FFXI had some other formula that also factored in the race when determining stats and so you had that 1-3 point gap at level 1 possibly turn into a ~10 point gap between the same two races at level 75.

    If we growth focus on job alone, plus the extra point per level per separate class to distribute, then we should be able to have enough of a unique stat style without over complicating everyone's stats.

    the way it is now though it would take a week to fully reset a DoW into a DoM. This if if you choose to use the natural race advantages that there are in place. my dunesfolk lalafell has only 12 str in which i used the extra points for int mind and piety some vit and dex to. If i switched to a DoW then i wouldn't need any int outside of playing with some dmg magic or certain ws maybe. kinda how u choose to role play it i guess. i made 2 other characters to be a tank and 1 a DD.

    At the same time there shouldn't be a wall stopping a lalafell from being a tank if they choose to, if they choose to only go that route with current system it would mean a difference in like 5vit and int in the end. In 11 a taru tank had extra MP they could use and a higher agi so it gave different races different approaches to playing jobs which was something i liked.

    Thing with current system though is it punishes you for lvling different job/role types, if they change to a system like in 11 then roegdlyn wont be as naturally as good of a mage as a lalafell could be but with more gear coming out you could pump up the stats you fear your lacking in. So i don't know if i should fear them taking phys lvl away or rejoice in the fact. Why should someone have to lvl different characters to feel on par with those that specialized in a class they wanted. I say choose the hume race then and u can come out even or pick a race that's geared toward the role/job you wanna play.
