Quelling Strikes

The only time a BLM should USE Quelling is if they outgear the tank. If you are losing hate to a BLM that is equally geared as you then you should consider your pull. I've seen a BLM spike 1000 DPS on a pull and a PLD held hate just fine with Sword Oath on. No Quelling was used.

I always use it with raging strikes, if the tank needs quelling for any other time, then one of us is doing something wrong.

This is how I use it as well. In a dungeon, typically Raging Strikes is followed by a chain flare.

I like making friends, but I don't want to make THAT many.

I don't even see how this is an argument. Using Quelling Strikes doesn't affect your DPS in any way.
