They have just as much right to content as everyone else does, regardless of when they finally made enough gil to do it.
Come on SE, put housing in cash shop!! It's not buying power, so it's perfectly fine!!

Sure, but they should also understand that the world doesn't sit around and wait for them. Housing has always been a finite resource on this game, so it behooves you to have the gil on hand when more goes in. If you decide to earn the gil after the fact, that's on you. In short: you snooze, you lose.
You can complain about how housing should be all you want. That doesn't change how it is.

I've been playing since launch and I have my own personal house, but what about new players just starting up? When they learn they can start saving for their own house only to meet the reality that there are no smalls left?
It's unacceptable. SE needs to keep pushing these extra areas on the servers that keep selling out.

New players just starting up are shuffled onto servers that are not as populated, which still have open plots.I've been playing since launch and I have my own personal house, but what about new players just starting up? They could also choose a larger server, unbeknownst to them that all prospect of a house is worthless. Not everyone will check the latest "wtf SE" thread - or know to ask in game about it until later. By that time double to triple digits of game time in oh btw you can't have one, you must lose your friends and also pay $20 if you wanted one. Balmung registration is still available during certain times btw.
Yes you guys are offering a solution, but is is an awful one. SE is wasting server resources on smaller servers and needing more on the larger ones, they should fix their problem not lol at players unable to login at 3AM to claim their plot when they get first added and had the gil to do so -- or players who don't want to abandon a server of friends and part with a month to two months subscription ($20, legacy or not). Vast majority of the houses on balmung (besides larges) were bought out in the first few hours being up, both times.
This isn't to say they don't have a fix in the works (I've heard rumor of instanced apartments), but until they do they should either offer free server transfers (highest traffic servers to lower traffic servers) or deal with the heat.
Also housing isn't just a "vanity" you can manage your chocobo if you were not in a FC and is also a source of stable income (less now but still stable).

I mean, we already have instanced apartment complex in the form of FC rooms. The thing is, as in most apartment, gardening is shared for everyone.
Gardening is THE biggest incentive for getting a house to me. Thav onions alone should let me make back 10 mil gil investment to a small house if I had the capital and it was actually up for grabs.
I say SE should sell garden plots for cash. $25 for a single plot, 35 for two so on so forth. Could be your 'weekend farm' thing.
I kid, I kid.

just keep checking. Small homes tend to open up. They did for me on behemoth. People go inactive for so long and they lose their house. Or they are relinquishing it o.O

if you aim for medium or large house, the chance to get one will be easier

4-5 million of gil can literally be earned in one day if you can craft expensive stuff. If you earn gil more casually however, it shouldn't take you more than 1 or at worst 2 weeks... housing was anticipated months ago.
With that said, there's always the chance they add more plots or that someone gives up theirs, be it because they went inactive or simply because they don't care about their house anymore and want some money. I've seen multiple times in Ragnarok people in PF selling small plots, why don't you try doing the opposite? Open a PF saying you are willing to buy a small plot.
