It's not stupid to lock loot even if your not on the class/job it's their pf they are free to make the rules .

But it is stupid to blist some one cuz of this I'm sure that getting pretty much the whole server to b list some one for well any thing is agents the rules.

    I think the most funny part is SE says they will handle reportings against players who violate any pre-defined rules regardless how "fair" the rules. ^^;
In short, we don't need judge any rules, SE already says they have enough free man power to follow-up such important players' own issues.
In short, SE encourages this kind of rules.

We've received a lot of requests to make it possible to pass after you've already lotted on an item, but due to the current system as well as prospects for the future we do not have any plans to implement this at the moment.

Also, while this isn't limited to only the topic at hand, it's extremely difficult to prevent human error by creating perfect rules within the game system as it becomes something that forces players to go through a cumbersome process. (Such as going through multiple confirmation windows.)

Naturally we will continue to make changes to the system for improvements, but ultimately we feel that there are situations where we would like you to decide on the rules amongst yourselves. Before entering a duty, make sure that all party members are informed of the agreement and who is able to lot on which item. All party members should agree to those terms before entering to ensure an agreement is clearly understood.

Breaking these agreements, or behavior that imposes on other players' enjoyment of the game, will not be tolerated. If after an investigation it's confirmed that a player clearly understood the rules when joining a group and still acted in such a manner, proper action will be taken against the player, which may include confiscation of the item or account suspension, so please avoid doing anything like this.

I got all my 2nd coil loot for alt classes (caster, healer, mnk/nin, drg) playing as tank.
Also got all shiva weapons and bracelets playing as tank.

It works if everyone come on their best classes/jobs, one shot the fight, and if the loot someone wants drops, they get it.

It's much better than having ppl who can't handle tanking or healing trying to tank or heal t6-t9/shiva, but they can do awesome DPS, so it's better to have them on DPS than to waste everyone's time trying to do something they don't know.

The way we usually do on Goblin is everyone choose one left-side and one right-side gear they want.
If it drops and no one asked for it, it's yours.
If 2+ ppl want the same loot, only those 2+ ppl roll on it.
If no one asked for the loot that dropped, everyone can roll on it (Greed only).
(Sands, oils, mounts are ok to everyone to Need)

Sometimes a rule like this could be implemented if a player needs to go a certain class in order to get a good farm going (as they are the best person in your team to do that job!), but they only want loot for a different class.

Say if your current Tank wants the Ninja weapon from T9. He could play as Ninja and Need on it uncontested if it drops, but then you don't have a Tank. If nobody else in the group can tank it instead, you end up back on PF - this could result in a long wait, and you could end up with a worse player and lots of wipes.

Alternatively, the rest of the party could simply agree to let him to get his weapon uncontested if it drops. Hey presto, you can start quicker, and get a good farm going.

Any such reservations are fair enough IMO, as long as they are made clear up front. Clearly, you shouldn't join a group if they have reserved something that you want.

It is used almost exclusively on hyperion pf. Never had anyone have an issue with it, never seen anyone ninja lot anything, and rarely see anyone loot and scoot. Now there are plently of postings that are rediculous in nature but the rules are clearly there and it is up to the individuals to participate under those rules or not.

Greed only - pick 2 items you whant to roll on. Stuff Nobody whants is freeloot! It has the benefit to join with your highest Ilevel class or a class wich is actually needet-. If you dont like it dont join said party and join a gimped party where everyone is 20 Ilevel lower and wich will take longer to farm.

greed parties were common on Balmung and were often the most successful ones. Pick an item, 2 people max per item, 2 loot max per player at a time, 1 run as cooldown once you got your loot before picking up a new loot. People who cheated the loot rules were reported to GM and nowhere to be seen for a few days after that.

I haven't seen many since I transferred, people on Cerberus tend to do need parties and just roll on whatever.
