^I don't get harassed that often (although I definitely have been harassed ingame for being female before), and there are more guy characters who play female characters than you realize.

I think the issue that Yoshi brought up is that girls could be harassed in voice chat just for being a girl, or to be more specific - for having a female voice. I can concur with this as I have witnessed this a few times in voice chat in the past. Sure, some girls have tough skin and can fire right back, but I have seen girls in voice chat refuse to talk because of fear that everyone will know they are a girl in RL. To go a bit further on this, even gay players can be harassed for speaking up on voice chat. I use voice chat a lot, but rarely ever speak up because of my last sentence. Anyone who has ever played with me and has used voice chat with me can tell you...I am very quiet in vent/TS/mumble.

Please don't quote me on the sexist comment, that was from Yoshi himself.

Understood and thank you for clearing that up. Was wondering myself. As to the rest of your post....

Not incorporating voice chat into an mmo because of some outdated, sexist, and discriminatory presumptive mindset is behind the times, ignorant, and out of touch.

Unless you live in a country that has laws against homosexuality and laws that clearly discriminate against women, or live in some backwater poedunk neck of the woods full of rednecks and bigotry, these beliefs are outdated.

Homosexuals and women don't see that much more harassment in video games than anyone else anymore. When you take the guilds that are primarily comprised of teenagers and people that are just mad at life in general out of the picture, equilibrium is almost achieved. I would go as far as to say women actually receive special treatment in a "normal" environment or setting.

I've gotten raged on plenty in an mmo. Either because I dropped a controller, had to go afk, or just flat out failed at something. The only difference between what I've experienced and the aforementioned demographic, is that the insults directed at me didn't have some ridiculous discriminatory connotation behind them.

I am not making light of the plight women, homosexuals, bi-sexuals, and transgender people have had to tolerate and fight against in the recent past. I applaud the advocates of change and support their endeavors.

However, people that hate people will hate people even if said people delivered lollipops, puppies, and rainbows to people for no other reason other than they were sad.

Moral of the story, people suck everywhere, don't take two-steps backwards when trying to move forward.

Yeah I used to play alot of Call of Duty back in the day, and this happened almost anytime there was a female voice, though it was CoD so what would one expect.

    I would like practice modes

Seems like dungeons are getting harder and harder. I love a good challenge as much as the next guy. I'd rather not flood duty finder trying to learn something, and starting a learning party can sometimes take a great deal of time depending on the content. What I would like is a solo or group practice mode where I can skip to certain phases, and set my own dungeon parameters.

I understand a solo mode would be incredibly difficult to accomplish, because of giving away fight mechanics through the movement of NPCs. Which would be giving user dungeon parameters to allocate for commanding NPCs. Not unlike the gambit system to FFXII, but specific to each raid or dungeon.

For example, If enemy skill = "Death sentence" > healer skill = "lustrate". Yet, I would be just as please to see group practice mode, all the same.

    Yappers
