    Loot Reservation Party Finder

Does this exist on other servers? Since the patch that allowed people to grind farm second coil, there are party finders up constantly like such:

Turn 8 Farm Group - No 100 Sol, Fail = insta kick, WHM, Tank, Monk gear reserved.

I personally find it laughable, and have messaged the owner of that particular recruiting party asking for info. Here is one of the general conversations paraphrased:

Me: Hey, I'm curious, what's this whole loot reserved thing about?

Owner: Yeah, it's if my or someone elses loot comes up , they get it.

Me: Well, isn't that kinda silly? Party finder you take your chances like everyone else?

Owner: Oh it's just a trust system. Don't let it ruin your faith in humanity.

Me: What happens if a person rolls on the loot you've "reserved" then?

Owner: Well, we kick them from the party, everyone blacklists them, and then we contact the biggest/most popular free companies to get them blacklisted there.

Me: Seems really strange to me, it's like saying "join my party to help me run this, do all the work, but if loot you need comes up you damn well better not roll on it."

    Owner: no reply.

Now this isn't just for second coil parties anymore. (And i seriously laugh at someone trying to reserve loot in a PF pre-nerf, or in final coil), but it has creeped into many areas of the game, including shiva EX, T5 etc.

I can understand hardcore progression statics arranging who is to get loot on a who-really-needs basis, but this is insane.

    Thoughts anyone?

Yh I think it's pretty silly to try reserving drops not on the class you're playing. At least it isn't something I'd do. If I wanna reserve an item for myself I force lock it via class restriction and run on the class that I want to loot for.

Class restriction, i can agree with that. If i'm running a role i want gear for, i'l try to make sure that i don't have a matching roll. But yeah, it's not even just for classes they aren't playing. To me PF is "come help me with this, or get this done yourself, and take the roll of the dice with me on what drops".

I think it's made even more vulgar by the anti-social results of people being blacklisted etc if they actually roll on something they need that's been "reserved".

Keep reservations to FC / static groups, and out of the party finder!

    It's common on my server.

Birds of a feather flock together. If you want to join, you join. If you are not interested, you don't join. They play their game, you play yours. As simply as that.

Oh i can understand not joining. I simply think the concept is stupid. You does your job, you take your chances.

They'll contact the biggest FC on the server and they'll spread shit about you if you roll/win the item they "reserved"?

Sound very elitist and frankly rather pathetic.

Pretty much mate. Worst part is it isn't even just the elitist side of playerbase that is doing this, it's spreading into common usage. Can't join most of the parties on PF due to refusing to join a "reserved loot" party.

Just make your own mate. Believe me, taking initiative in pf is the least stressful way to go about it. + Why should you wait for the pf that suits you? make your own o/

Loot locking is common on my server to, my friends and i did it a lot when weekly cap was removed from turns 1-5 back in the day.We never had any issues with people wanting loot that we locked and when said piece did drop the person wanting it was the last to leave. I'd have to do some digging but almost 100% sure if all players in a party agree to the conditions of how loot is distributed by rules made by the leader and the rules are broken you can contact a GM to resolve it. As for said leader telling you if you ninja lot and get the locked item and they inform other FCs, that's a double edge sword. yes thats pretty dickish that they would try in great effort to have other FCs blacklist you but at the same time if you and some friends were trying to farm something and you had to pf some roles and for what ever reason you were forced to play as one role but want gear for another role and locked it then someone ninja lots your drop would you warn friends,ls,fc mates that theyre a ninja lotter? But when I see gear locked its G>N pick two items first X item is locked.

I can agree in part with your reasoning, but to me that's what party finder is, it's a roll of the dice.

No one would bother to try loot locking in final coil, nor did they before second coil was grindable. To me if someone wants loot for a certain role, they play in that role, whether that be later when they can get the party together that way or just make a full 8 man team outwith the party finder.

Someone comes in my PF, they have no reservations to deal with, they have the same chance as anyone else to get their gear, and no hard feelings if they get it over me.
