Do new players miss out on certain things that vets got to experience?

I started playing ff14 a month ago and im at level 36. So far im having a blast playing it. There was maybe 3 or 4 patches that introduced new dungeons and storylines to see. As a new player will i be able to experience all these dungeons and storylines? With the new patch coming soon they are adding more dungeons and storylines as well. What im basically trying to get at will I experience or will I just receive the current ones. Will they appear on the game as quest or will i have to do some googling to find them?

You'll be able to experience everything but some things have received significant nerfs and along with better gear that's been released are no longer as difficult as they once were.

Pretty sure all the old content is just stacked on with new content, and you gotta do most the old, before the new. I don't know that you really miss anything, except the novelty of it being new for everyone. Oh yeah, there are some nerfs.. but really it's in content that's not too relevant anymore anyhow.

Well in a sense, no. The fights of the past are not as difficult and enthralling as before, but they're still there.

just to clarify i dont really care about the grinding of them for gear i just want to experience it with the chain quest storyline etc. Then once i beat it do the other old patch stuff until i reach the new patch...that way i feel im experiencing everything the game has to offer. Hopefully i can get through all the stuff before the new expansion comes so i can be on the same footing as others.

You can experience everything from patch 2.0 up to the current version. Some of the content is easier but it's still there.

A lot of the stuff they've added along the way is all post 50. So pre 50 it's almost exactly the same as at the beginning of 2.0, with the main difference being that you get more experience now and there is dungeon roulette, so it's faster to level. Also, rogue. You're getting to 50 at a pretty good pace so I wouldn't worry too much.

the ONLY things you'll never experience are the previous year's season events, since they change every year. So no, you'll never get to experience the majesty of the Uma Bugyo.

Well, you won't have seen the evolution of Revenant's Toll. I fondly remember when it used to just be a heap of dirt and rock pretty much. Very different from how it is today. Beyond that, though, I don't think you've missed anything else noteworthy.
