How do I spiritbond in Urth's Fount?

Please advise. I want to spirit bind all the patrician's gear to get Crafting Materia 3 and 4's. Do I just wear it and go there and fight for a while...as a WVR? Is this why people form SB parties because they would die if they tried to SB by themselves as DoH? TIA

Patricians can be worn by any job so go as a DoW and just equip the gear. Kill those water ele's and get your materia!

A few suggestions:

HQ your sets. It spirit bonds faster.
Meld it with some crappy elemental materia. It spirit bonds faster.
Form a SB party. It spirit bonds faster.
Use your chocobo on heal stance. It levels up faster. (Just kidding, it levels up the same, but you won't die so in that way its faster :P)

I think the bond rate goes up for every attached materia.

The abandoned mine area in Northern Thanalan were the Dark Devices Fate spawns is a great place to bond as well. Urth's Gift just seems the most popular/crowded.

Just a minor correction, being a party reduces SB gained from each kill. But, a party will kill more monsters faster, thus, producing a net gain in most situations.
HQ: +20% SB gained
Each melded materia: +20% SB gained

SB rate varies based on item level (iLVL) versus monster level. You must kill a monster with 15 iLVL of the item. The optimal SB rate will happen when the monster iLVL is 8 or 10 levels (seen both numbers) higher than the iLVL of item being bonded. Optimal bond rate is somewhere near

OP wanted to SB Patrician's Gear which is iLVL 50
Urth's Fount will work just fine but a must faster bonding would happen from running Brayflox's Longstop (Hard), Halatali (Hard) and The Lost City of Amdapor.

If you've got a good party, the Garlean Castrums are good too. Basically anywhere you can expect large amounts of level 45+ enemies.

Just tossing this out, but if you have your heart set on Urth's Fount, there is no difference in conversion rate between Patricians, and the i46 gear (I forget the name of the set at the moment). They both convert into rank IV materia 10% of the time. So you could save yourself some gil and some time (it'd take less time to SB) and use 46 set instead.
