It would come down to a very niche race that they would have to design hair styles and other stuff for. They would most likely suffer what a lot of male hair styles already suffer from. A lack of decent variety or feeling they weren't that designed well. It's just resources that could be better allocated at the moment as it still feels this game is teetering the line between stable success and possibly going back down the drain. Maybe the next expansion when both personnel resources and game resources are better used if the game continues to grow and not stagnate or decline in players.

I'm actually a bit disappointed, they look very similar to every other race. Not to say I wanted something that would break with the rest of the game, but I was hoping for slightly more lizardy looking face/anatomy, not just some scaly padding. :/

Been reading this thread and I find it very strange how people seem to be against the notion of options. Apparently wanting options means you're ungrateful or whiny ... and that's normally from the people who are OK with their kitty people toons.

I really had no problem with the women being small at first. I mean, the only member of the race we have seen so far in game is small. BUT ... my problem with the females size come in now that we see that the dudes are huge badasses. I personally hate that kinda sexual dimorphism, the guys look cool and badass and are 2 heads taller than the women who are cute and tiny and kitty girls with ... skin disorders.
Having to have everything look pretty, soft and animu-lovely is really annoying to me. I mean, maybe I would have kept my cat girl if she could be covered in fur and have a cat face like this.

And the sad part is that ... it really wouldn't take some huge amount of resources for a SUB game to make more beast-like PC options. Giving players the option to make this new race have hand-arms-legs and feet fully/ mostly scaled with crawls and such would be no more work than wut goes into making stuff for any race that goes a ways from being default human. Tons of helms in this game wouldn't have to be touched at all to allow for a small snout for either this of the Kitties.

And the sader part is that they could very well accommodate both sides. Make one tribe of kitty people that are the way they are now and one with full/ fullish body fur and cat snouts & crawls that have the option for body fur patterns and colors. Allow one tribe of Au Ra to be this and the other tribe and have huge bad ass females and more beastly features + actual body scales.

Funny how they apparently see EQN as their only real comp when they aren't willing to put the player's toons appeal fully in their hands.
Anyway, not feeling the new race. Their scales look like random bits of really strange skin ...

Some ppl is indeed defending the design in a wrong way, it's not a surprise we have a lot of forum users here that act that way, it's not only this thread. But anyone defending the actual design is right, it's done, making the models take a good amount of time of work and testing, it can't be changed now, at least if you want the expansion for this spring. Some players just don't like the new race, it's normal, we are a lot of here and there's no way they can please everyone with a single race, but that's how you should take it, instead of asking for options that are impossible unless you delay the whole expansion, you should just keep giving feedback, that way the next expansion will please those who want something more beast like, instead of those who like more human like looks.

Anyway, i paid for the nico nico stream and i remember they saying that this race would have a lot of options for character creation, may be they could please even more people.
