Mine died when I was away due to festivities.
Best part about it is that my neighbors could not tend to it, since it was ready to harvest, so it died after 24h.

I felt cheated, why would they die if they're ready? This is taking the Role Play aspect too far imo.

In a FC several persons can harvest/tend the plants but in a private home it's only you.
It shouldn't be like this, really.

Other people to tend/water them. As of right now, you can't do it on ready to harvest crops.

Does anyone know if people are going to be "reimbursed" for plants that are going to die because of the log in issues right now? They started maintenece at 9 pm on the 24th and haven't been able to log back in since because of the whole stupid PSN crap. I have 8 broombushes & thavnarian onions that are going to die because everyone in my free company is also on PS4 and no one can log in to tend them... That's a lot of wasted time cross breeding those damn seeds just to lose them because of log in issues.
