No, no, it isn't. Protect is the only buff that should definitely be cast in dungeons, everything else is nobody's business. As long as you keep them alive, they have no right to complain.

On the same line of reasoning as yours, protect is also not necessary, "as long ad you keep them alive, they have no right to complain (of not having protect)"

Protect is always worth it, though. But you are correct, as long as the healer keeps everyone alive, it doesn't matter how they do it.
