Id think it be pronounced like ah-oo-rah or something along those lines

yeah my guess is that Au'Ra pronunciation is 'Ah-oo Rah'.
Ow-rah is what my instinct was.
Hey now, miqo'te can look plenty fierce in their own way with the right features, I like to think I did a good job with mine, and I've no doubt in my mind that I can, and will make her look equally fierce as an Au Ra.
Au Ra, for lack of a better term, feel very fanservice-y in their design. Manly men for that crowd, dainty girls for that crowd, and Yoshi-P gets his lizards.
But, you know what they remind me of? Succubus and Incubus. Not draconian, but still not a "race," if Void influenced men and women could be referred to as such, that would be appreciated in Eorzea, as you could guess.
Yes, also in Japanese the u is often not said, especially for non-Japanese words, and the I is pronounced as a e in some languages, including Japanese, it's a good thing to know when you play a Japanese game to know how to pronounce some words ^^.( and learn kanas ! )
I wonder if you use a fantasia to change to an Au Ra if you still get to keep your legacy tattoo. Lore wise this doesn't make any sense because there were no Au Ra at the Battle of Carteneau and thus could not have been branded with the mark and sent forward in time.
The only thing that makes sense is that your character drank a magic potion, fantasia, turning into an Au Ra and keeping your mark because after all you still where at the battle as your previous race.
to zumi Lore wise Fantasia's exist so to them they would assume if they saw the tatoo that you either took a fantasia, or you got one mimicking, plus lore wise the only ones who know about the tattoos meaning is the players themselves and maybe the scions
Sometimes you just got to have Some fun
