So this is how a modern MMO client with a sane UI design works. I took these screenshots in Tera because I've been playing it lately, but WoW works exactly the same way. The UI knows about relative size, so no matter what resolution you set the display to, the relative size of the UI stays the same. It baffles me that in 2013 Squenix managed to design an MMO client where UI size is an absolute based on number of pixels, rather than relative to the size of the viewport and independent of resolution.

I did nothing while taking these example screenshots except go into the Settings and change the resolution. Observe how the UI stays the same relative size no matter what resolution I set the game to. Of course, I can still resize the various UI elements freely from 50% to 200% and that's no problem at all when the relative 100% size is always the same no matter what resolution it is.

Yes, Tera really does look like that. The Koreans know how to make pretty MMOs. The Avatar Woods is one of my favorite zones in the game, although there are no blue people in these woods.
