Seasonal Furnishings

Curious if the seasonal furnishings can be repurchased once they have been acquired initially from a vendor somewhere like the clothing. It seems odd they would include items as significant as a furniture or housing piece that once you use can never be removed or it is lost forever. Basically telling us, don't ever use the item you just got because you can never take that back. Am I missing something or did Square actually design the system this way to punish us for using an item we got from an event? I was hoping to be able to take these items out of my 'attic' each year and redecorate my room and FC house.

This could be rectified with a storage chest furnishing. This would allow you to exchange certain items from the active furnishing list to an inactive list so you could actually even have more items bound to the house than you can have displayed in the house.

Do you mean just the wallpaper? Because every single piece of furniture (even the trees) can be removed from your outside yard/inside the house and they are not destroyed on removal. The only thing that would be "destroyed" is the wallpaper, since it's a interior fixture and they always get destroyed upon removal.

Wallpaper yes. The light fixtures as well cannot be removed without destroying them. A bottle of champagne, a fire cracker I can understand a one use. Furniture though we should get to keep.

Are we not talking about the holiday furniture? Because the only other one there is, was the Bomb lamp fixture from the summer event. Otherwise none of the other holiday event furniture is destroyed. And there was no light fixture this time around.

Okay... so what about the bomb light fixture. Is it purchasable from a merchant again if you remove it or is it destroyed thus making using it in the first place a bad decision if you ever want to use it again, same with the walls. So at this point I am getting the idea that no, they are destroyed forever which I think was a dumb move. I hope they add these items to the vendor for future purchase because I want to use them each year, not just once and they obviously change the rewards each year so no guarantee that they will be available again.

I was wondering the same thing. I'd like to decorate my house for the season, but will I be able to get a replacement to use next year? And what about the furniture pieces... will they be storable in the armoire in a patch or two like other event items? I've got four retainers full of crafting mats and gear, having to make space to store all the seasonal decorations would be painful.

No, usually they are only for sale during the event period via NPC. Some things you can rebuy from the Calamity NPC but I don't think he sells the light/wallpaper. You'd just have to wait until next year for the event to come back, or stockpile some for reserve, or if enough ppl ask for it I'm sure SE would add it to the cash shop. =\

If you're on Diabolos, no need to worry if you end up taking the holiday wallpaper down and wish you could have it back up again. I'll have a couple up on the MB for somewhere in the 6-figure range.

If it's like with the bombard lamp it won't be available from the Calamity Salvager. I bought that for my FC's basement since my private room there has a Morbol chandelier, and after buying a private house I checked the salvaged and can't get another. Live and learn (and earn gil) I guess...

Well you made things very vague and unclear, so you're JUST specifically talking about the Starlight Wallpaper, and the Bomb lantern fixture, ok now that I know that now... yes the light fixture and the flooring being destroyed is really annoying and how does removing a light fixture destroy it?! I wish they would change that about all the light fixtures. But I was aware of this lil' issue, and bought extra of the bomb lantern fixture and the starlight wallpaper, yeah we shouldn't have to do this, but until they change it I suggest doing it if you want to use next year.
