They really do look like Elezens with scales, horns, and tails. I wonder how their emotes will be. And I wonder how many people will be switching to them?

I've never been a fan of these sorts of designs that super-emphasize the difference between the genders, but I know good and well that I'm in the minority. Just as some people want to make female characters that are fierce and warrior-like, I enjoy playing male characters that look petite and non-threatening, even effeminate.
Yugiri's overall physiology (from what we could tell past the outfit) seemed like it could represent a race with the potential to be customized in just such a way. Instead, we get yet another muscle-bound, hardcore warrior to go along with Roegadyn and Highlanders. Dragons are fierce and powerful, but they're also sleek and graceful. Wyverns especially are downright cute! SE agrees, it seems, but only if you're a girl.
My disappointment is profound, but, like I said, it's also 100% selfish. I know that people like these sorts of designs, so I don't fault SE for their decision. I suppose my Miqo'te is just going to have to be good enough for me.![]()

People either love or hate it. I was slightly impressed and they looked like something from some Korean MMO.
/sigh... I wonder how anyone at SE manages to keep any sort of passion for making this game when the community does nothing but find things to complain about.
1) There is nothing inherently wrong with the new race, for both males and females. The only issue that people are failing to understand is that they simply don't like it. For a variety of reasons, each and every one of them stemming from a failure to get exactly what they want, people are trying to justify their own immaturity.
2) There are as many different desires for new races as there are players, with no two being alike. But instead of acknowledging this fact and finding the positive aspects of variety, people simply want to complain that the world isn't catering to them, alone.
3) Why can't people find and support things they are happy about, rather than simply complain about what they don't like?
I work in the video game industry and I can tell you a very interesting fact about criticism: It's not seen as a positive quality at the professional level. Once you rise above the unskilled masses, the "talent" to sit and complain is not tolerated. It takes, however, far more skill and talent and knowledge to see qualities in spite of the obvious problems.
For example: I doubt you'll find very many people who truly feel that the Star Wars episodes I-III were genuinely good movies. You can find 32945938459235879 things wrong or bad with those movies, sure. But so what? Any unskilled self-proclaimed "expert" can do the same damn thing. But can you find redeeming qualities in those movies? A true professional can.
3) With all that being said, our beloved community is still a majority of kids who still think its cool to think something sucks. Heaven forbid they should be caught dead admitting they actually like or enjoy something.
People who don't like something will express their dislike of it. If you can't get over that, I think it's you that's just showing their own immaturity.
On topic: They look diseased.

I know, but now we can see them as a whole and somehow (still my opinion...) it doesn't fit completely. I said I don't like them on both genders, but even a bit less on the males.
Might only be me too, 'cause I never really like the Miqo'te tails with the too thin and thus pointy end @.@'
I have no idea if I can express myself properly right now... Bit of "RIP engrish" because I haven't slept that much last night. Sorry :S

"You've cheated death too many times. Greed may do your bidding, but death serves no man." - Six of Crows

I don't really like where the horns are located in the males, but i like the concept and the partially scaled skin, i'll be definitely trying them out, and i may change my main, even if i don't like the horns, the overall design is good.
I think a more beastly race would be mostly ignored by the player-base, and i can say it because that's what happens in most games, these races are mostly used by players who care more about stats than aesthetics.

Music, off hand. The fightscenes were much better scripted than the dialogue, though the Grevious fight was a bit dissapointing, Lucas film does still do some good visual work, (I prefer WETA, but silver isn't terrible). For example: I doubt you'll find very many people who truly feel that the Star Wars episodes I-III were genuinely good movies. On the other hand, Stating a dislike for something isn't childish. Lashing out is childish. Some of the people here have expressed well reasoned opinions for why they don't like the Au Ra. Would you care to give some positive feed back on their ability to provide negative feedback? a professional should be able to pull it off, after all.
Looks like the Miqo'te have competition for my favorite race.
