This is a VERY true point. Mages now are having some really hard time soloing stuff...my sister, who is very casual, basically gave up playing after seeing how CON was after patch.

I beg to differ here. Perhaps, I was playing Conjurer wrong, because pre-patch or post-patch, whenever I play CON all I do is spamming Profundity, Spirit Bind and lots and lots of Offensive Spells, until everything in front of me died. That, I have zero points extra in INT/MND/PIE.

What is the link to the SOLO con not pulling hate on ogre, just wondering thats all. I build quite a bit of hate with 2 CON, I couldn't imagine doing it solo.

I don't think people understand that it's not just about adapting. What if a conjurer wants to play the dungeon nuking? He has no choice since they want him/her to be a healer, and not another DD.

If there is no Healer, than that CON will have to heal. Unless there is a way to do the dungeon without Healer. If there are more than enough Healer, I don't see anything wrong with the extra CON go berserk with Nuke, unless he want to steal hate and get a party wipe for fun.

That's just it, it's not all about healing. All the DoW can get the right tools to do well without a healer for a good while. It's called stygian spikes and Cure/Sacrafice. And the point that I'm getting at is they invite more than one CON just for more healing, not for the extra DD... which imo isn't right. Let them play the class how they want to.
