So does the majority want the relic weapons to carry over into the expansion?

Unfortunately after all this work on the current relic I expect a full reset with no advantage to having completed this relic. I think the reason the form changed for zodiac is so people who got that far can use it for glamor in the future. That's what all these months of grinding got you. A relevant weapon for now and glamor for the future.

It seems logical that they would not. This way all players, new and old, would be on the same footing when it comes time to do a new relic. Otherwise they would probably need to nerf zenith -> nexus process into the ground so, that players that don't have it can catch up, or create some series of quests that would serve as the upgrade so that those players could then move onto the new relic quests.

I always imagined that the current Relic will become the base for the new one. Perhaps new players for example find an unfinished Excalibur (Just the main stats on it, low damage, etc) like how we all found unfinished weapons and the players who have finished their relic get to use theirs. Stats from their materia carry over and all. That way Relic owners who completed their weapons are happy because all their work did not go to waste, newer players are happy also because they can just move right into the quest.

I think they should. People have put a lot of work into them and should be able to continue that progress. I do not think there should be a "skip option", as that degrades other's prior commitments. As long as there are alternatives, no exception should be given. Just IMO. I of course, do not speak for the vast majority.

i agree to this HOWEVER i believe you should have to hand in your Zodiac weapon for the further upgrade.

atma can be even easier.
Books reduce cost to basiclly 100 tomes or reduce the number of book needed to get threw this stage from 9 to 4
Alex say 2 per map, 3 per map. 100% meld at all stages 50 hunt points per alex increase drop rate from fates to 20% or higher
2-5 x lights per content.
all of these things could be done to make old relic quick to get to current stage.

Sad but true, I don't think we should start again but hand in the zodiac to continue to the new relic. I wouldn't mind a skip option would make my life so much easier because we all already know it's gonna be a grind in some form. If they do put a skip option should be only for the first new relic quest then the rest you would need to the grind. If people can just start with the new relics the old one will get abandoned and would be a waste.

I don't know if Relics will carry over but I can almost guarentee if they don't they'll introduce a new questline (be it mythics/empy), just because their needs to be some type of grind to keep people occupied.

Tbh this might be how it will be done, also someone should make a lore vid or something that explains whole Zodiac questline till the end, as many peoples are still thinking that its the same relic when its actually totally new legenady weapon. When you complete current quest only thing that remains from original relic is the Dark Materia, base is totally new and has nothing to do with relic.

A viable skip option I could see it like how atma had horrible drop rate is that if you have the finish relic you need X amount to do quest for new weapon but if you don't have the relic and want to skip forward you have to do double the work. Like with atma you needed 12 so if wanted to skip forward without the completed relic would need 24 of the items instead, but I guess that could backfire with how rng is though but something along that line.
