Does anyone pay attention to this games story?

This really sucks to say but you know damn well they don't. Outside of a small number of us, most zerg through the story, skipping cutscenes and very important and engaging dialogue to unlock the latest primal ex/endgame. Only to make learning parties and 2 days later have a l33t attitude in the pf. Thats unfortunately a majority of the player base's mindset.

I for one LOVED the story arc in 2.4. It got me very excited about whats to come in the expansion. It made me feel like its right around the corner!

It would have been nice if there was more difference between the clans/tribes than just skin/scale color. Like, if one clan/tribe was tall and imposing while the other was elegant and petite (like how Hyuran clans have more differences). Would solve the issue of extreme sexual dimorphism (and give both genders the option to play what they like). Also, I hope we'll have scale options instead of just having patchwork scales throughout.

Despite liking how Au Ra look, I am disappointed that FFXIV decided to go with extreme sexual dimorphism instead of utilizing their clan/tribe dualism if they wanted strong/pretty race.

Oh well, if their animations are better than Midlander, I'll Fantasia into one.

No, really. To all the people who wanted "more bestial females"...sorry, developers go with what is usually considered pleasant to the eye by the majority, in Japan.

And she's right. What else do you expect from a japanese developed game?. I like the new race too, I don't mind how people likes to say "It is hyur based", "Oh, look, elezen + horns". If they'd add a race with wolf ears and tail they'll say the same and that we have a lot in the game, fox ears and tail? the same....

But, if they want something more.... Bestial, furry, there are other games for it.. (God, I really disliked the no-cuteness of WoW...Whenever I remember Tauren, orcs, etc...I want to go to any of the imperial bases and make a massacre of garleans.)

BTW.... DRG AURA.... That's going to be fun.

However...
I do believe we've been shown both tribes and I am quite dissapointed that they, much like the other tribes, clearly suffer from "Same Face" syndrome. Barely noticeable eyes and blue skin does not a great difference make.
I'd think something with greater range, like the Midlanders and Highlanders would have been nice
And this is coming from someone who plays the softer looking races, ie Midlander over Highlander.
