Hey, that's the one I was gonna link! But I'm already at one strike, I don't want to risk it again.
So, how long into Heavensward launch should we be expecting the TF2 Engineer with FFXIV footage Videos to show up?
In that video you can see the turret is called using a ground-targeted skill. It'll probably just appear temporarily to do attacks/buffs/etc, rather than be a full blown pet.
OMG its almost not a Puppet Master. Why do I have a feeling that either Cid or that amazon in Lominsa will be starters in this job.
Just an FYI, in the Japanese part of the slide describing the job, "attachment" is transliterated English and is in quotation marks. This calls attention to the fact that it has the same name as the attachments that Puppetmaster had in FFXI. More to the point, it's not just a coincidence that the same word was used in English, in case anyone was wondering.
Just for fun, I wonder if they will end up calling the lv 15 job quest "Build-a-Bot Workshop" <_< or whichever level they allow players to use that ability.
That's interesting though if the "Attachments" is the same as the Puppetmaster wording there are two ways it could go.
Hm the way they word it on their powerpoint. I wonder if Machinist will be given actions to "attack" their turret and change it's effect.
Kinda like attachments being used on the gun that then acts like a programming device to tell the turret what to do.
So you place the turret down it's it's base action is just to attack closest target in range.
You use augments like let's say they go with the elements, fire-fire-fire. Then you target your Turret and input those commands into the turret and it fires a powerful single target attack but leaves it overheated for 5 seconds before it can attack again.
Basically the thought that came to mind is maybe you can "fire" your gun at the turret when you augment your gun with attachments and based on the attachments currently on your gun it effects what the turret will do. Which could be an interesting gimmick and offer a unique playstyle for Machinist since they would have to actively switch their target to their "pet" to input commands almost in a similar way like Ninjutsu but maybe with the gimmick being the more commands you input the higher risk you have of overheating your turret and losing out on major dps.
Machinist is a Job, and not tied to a class.
Most NPCs are not Jobs.
Cid is Machinist though? except he's kinda of a pacifist.
Also books= acn/sch/smn...just cause merlwyb uses guns, doesn't make her a machinist.
