The EN name is based on the JP name, which clearly states that the NPC is a boy. We escalated this issue to the dev in charge, but since he was unable to address the issue before the quest went live, he’s decided that this is spec and that yes, the east-end boy really is an east-end boy. It does. Just a little confusing since other girls have had that a character model and were stated to be girls in their quests. That's why it strikes me as odd.

No, it's a girl they just don't want to own up to it. Reminds me of the Coeurl in Toto Rak that someone didn't notice was a plant prior to launch.
