And apparently on my server there's a guild buying up the dates and then offering to cancel and sell them in party finder. Good system, SE. Good system. Seriously want my money back this is the worst..

You should probably report this. Take screenshots and what not and report it (via the website so you can include the screenshots). The more proof that SE has that the system is either broken or being abused, the more likely they are to fix it.
