I really want to finish mine but this light grind is killing me. I've been stuck at robust activity for weeks now. Really wish they'd ease up on the light grind. I did 2 hours straight of garuda Hm in bonus the other day and I'm still only at robust. I've been at this since this stage was released doing my daily roulettes with a few times of grinding for hours and this is all I have so far.

I'm in exactly the same situation. The light grind is just so soul destroying. In theory it's great because you can progress through normal gameplay but it takes forever and the only way to get it in a reasonable time frame is to mindlessly spam the same instance over and over.

It doesn't help that the SMN zodiac Apocalypse looks so god damned terrible it's killed all interest I have in the weapon. Seriously, why does the SCH zodiac have the SMN crystal on it whilst we get a purple mess with the eye of sauron?!

The Nexus step... makes you feel like you are wasting lights if you feel like playing another job (other than Frontlines where you can switch at the end and get the lights).

They should have made the light grind a quest like they did with Zodiac. It's hard collecting light for me at least because I enjoy using my other roles as well. That is counterproductive however if you're trying to get a Nexus.

I find this the case with most players of more than 8-year playing time.
It's the weapon that in some cases ( I know some Ninjas and super hardcore people have managed their Relics in shorter time) will be the only thing to resemble a long playing stance. Who knows a year from now the line will still be going and all the new players will see that weapon and be like wow this guy/girl has been a vet lol Idk I look at it that way. Besides you know the weapon is always goign to get better rather than ''grinding'' countless coil hours to obtain a weapon that will be outdated in 2-months time or on par with a weapon you can obtain from a few quest.

Some players are still trying to progress their T9 weapon after 30+ clears.....While those who just grinded relic are like i115 or 125 now.

I think these Dreadwyrm daggers will be relevant for more than 2 months.

1) for me. Although slightly dissappointed with the fact that my Nirvana looks like my thyrus mated with a christmas tree O.o. Not a big fan or the glowing crystals on the staff that pulsate from green/blue green/red .

I'm currently working on my light. Less than 800 to go. Is it worth it? Most def. Currently working on T9 @ final phase and only equivalent iLvl weapon available is the sold staff, which is a joke compared to my relic. Don't need the acc.

2) Currently at 1800+ lights on my MNK fist weapons.

I can't wait for the next phase, because it looks like it'll be a cinch compared to the lights grind. I hated this phase, but mostly because I knew I wouldn't finish it in time for the next step, and because it locked me into playing Monk for so long.

I like the relic quest. This game was in a dire need of something for combat classes to do that wasn't in a cued instance, devoid of lockouts, and for that group of players that enjoy grindy, goal oriented gameplay. (/raises hand). It may not be my ffxi relic/mythic/empy weapons, but it will have to do for now.

Drg Atma (on book 5)
Zenith for anything else cuz they take all of an hr to make.

1. Finished as of 6 AM EST.
Atmas - decent.
Animus - FATEs were brutal.
Novus - Alex maps/materia weren't too bad (no breaks on Det IV's)
Nexus - worst stage. I despise all HM primals now.
Zodiac - probably the most fun as the dungeons were ones that don't get a lot of play anymore.

Fun fact: I raced against 2 FC members on this. They had Nexus right off the get-go while I had Novus still. I did the entire light grind in 6 days and this one in 2. I achieved 2nd place... by 1 dungeon (soldiery).
