I think most guys prefer shorter girls. Or at least girls shorter than them. Plus, I've never heard girls say that they'd prefer guys shorter than them. If they prefer anything, it's always a guy taller than them.

You always want what you don't have. Taller girls want to be shorter because they feel they look awkward, and shorter girls want to be taller to more easily maintain weight and reach things.

There's someone out there for everyone. That being said, OP, don't be a creeper.

Yes I do have a My Little Pony sig because I'm not a complete loser who lives in his own little world, proclaiming something is stupid because I say so.

People that want to watch the but of a female avatar sonfuses me. I play as a male avatar. I don't stare at the avatar's but. I stare at the monsters I am fighting and where I am going, and mostly I stare at the minimap. Some people point out staring at their avatar's butt, for some reason I have no idea. it is akin to getting turns on by anime girls. Now if these avatar's looked like 100% real people, I could see staring at the butt a bit more. But why on earth would somebody want to get their jollies off by staring at a female avatar's 3d constructed body parts? Is going to the mall or the beach and staring at hot women that difficult?

I play as a male human because in real life I am a male human. I even tried to make my avatar look like me because when I roleplay, I pretend that the avatar is me in the game. So I am in game and doing what I do. This is my fantasy, but I am in my own fantasy. Looking at my facebook pics, you can see that I look alot like my avatar, and for good reason.

You're talking as though everyone playing a female character is sitting there playing the game with one hand (if you know what I mean). We chose female characters because we thought they looked nicer.

Whether or not your focus is on the butt, the fact is it's still there, and when we look at our character 95% of the time we're watching its backside. Are you telling me you NEVER look at your character while you're playing?

I use a 28" monitor and have the camera zoomed out, mainly when I look at the character, I see the avatar's head, I focuse more on the world, action bar, enemies, minimap, etc.

I always just assume people are whatever gender their character is. While some might think this is dangerous, I just can't fathom why guys would play female characters unless they were into dressing like women IRL too. But to each their own I suppose. However, when I'm playing the game, it matters more to me what's on the screen than what's behind it. Even if I know better, I still catch myself calling them he or she based on their character rather than the player.

So to all the guys playing girls in the game, you're all sissy girls behind the screen to me too. :P

That being said, I am female, but I don't think girl gamers are as rare and mythical a creature as everyone makes them out to be, so I see no reason to make a huge deal about it.

The reason I picked Miqo in FFXIV was because I liked the tomboyish Mithra emotes and spell casting and weapon stances in XI better than the Hume female ones that I had. So, needless to say I'm disappointed on that front, but now I can't imagine Chio being anything else - even though the super-girlishness of some of her animations makes me want to vomit sometimes. :|

On the relationship side of things, I find serious flirting in a MMO with the intent to do so in real life to be kind of creepy. I might have my character fawn over a handsome looking Elezen now and then, but I'm not looking to hook up with the player. Mostly on account of me being happily taken already.

Ironically enough, we did meet in FFXI. Been married for 6 years and counting now.

I personally play a male midlander, but I do have an alternate character that is female.
I haven't played her in awhile simply because I prefer to play as male. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I like to play strong characters, and the female animations are just too flimsy for my taste. Perhaps female roegadyn will change that.

    Anyways:
This is a virtual world where the constraints of the real world need not apply. We are all using it as a form of escape, be it boredom, insecurity, financial worries, bodies, whatever.
What and how people choose to play the game is very little of my concern, I just want to make sure they are enjoying their time.

I find it curious how such a vast amount of people think they have the right to look down upon others for how they choose to play a game.

I agree that it's never safe to assume anything. Most of the time people probably think I'm a guy in game 'cause I'm a bit of a tomboy. :x

If I see a female character I call them a "she," and if is see a male character I call them a "he," until told to call them otherwise, but I won't ever assume their sex irl.
Usually I don't care what they are irl. If I'm becoming close friends with them, and care to know them irl then it's nice to know. Most of the time I couldn't care less who they are irl and just wanna have fun playing the game.
