Suiton wouldn' t be shortened because the vowel sounds are different う and い respectively, where Huton is just an elongated う sound which wouldn't require an aditional letter in english. Not always when written in romaji do elongated vowel sounds get additional letters either because they would look odd or aren't needed as much. If you look at Tokyo in Japanese hiragana, technically in English it would be spelled Tookyoo, Tohkyoh, or Toukyou. But since we speak English we might not read it correctly.
