FFXIV Playstation Trophies

Can you please remove the Trophy: "Seeker of Truth" ("Clear the Binding Coil") from the Platinum Trophy requirement?

It is a nigh unobtainable trophy for General populace.
As many Playstation gamers cannot get into Coil as PC gamers require Voicechat for it.

Also having to clear Turns 1-5 is overkill.
Every Trophy has been reasonable & challenging enough for the game.
But that 1 trophy is...a sore spot.

Binding Coil takes an entire raid force of 100% committed, dedicated, and skilled gamers at the very peak of their skill.
It requires flawless execution of tactics, teamwork, position, and communication.
It's currently ranked a "Bronze" Trophy at that!
If anything it should be an optional: "Platinum Trophy" that boosts the Trophy completion for the game to 120% or something.
It should NOT count towards the default Platinum Trophy.

Forcing endgame content on the crowd that is shunned from endgame content is just mean.
It also will drive folks to Raid just for the trophy, they won't/don't care about the strategy or hardwork. They will only be there for a free ride/carry.

Wut. I've been the playstation only guy in plenty of PC based statics , besides most PC statics resort to third party apps such as Skype, Mumble , RaidCall , Teamspeak for VoIP considering not everyone has access to VoIP you can atleast get a hold of one of these if you're serious about raiding, and if not then why would they remove a trophy just because you aren't putting in the effort to work for it ? They didn't ''force'' endgame content on you, you clearly have the desire to do so .....you just aren't puttting in the effort to find a group that user a VoIP you can actually aquire.

On that note, PS4 players have the inbuilt chat system, so as opposed to a pc/smartphone application they have that advantage. Anyway, I've seen plenty of groups type what you need to do for the benefit of PS players who don't have VoIP capabilities.

Remove a trophy that you cannot obtain? So we should also remove every trophy in the real world also unobtainable to you? We shouldn't hand out Olympic medals for skiing because some people lack the limbs to achieve that award? Can't do karate, take away all the trophies, right?

The only thing that bugs me about the Playstation Trophies is that they don't sync up with the PC version, so if you do something on the PC, you get an achievement in game but you won't get it when you log back into the PS4 version. Its not the end of the world, but I was a little down when I didn't get trophies for things that I know I've done lol.

Every MMO on the Playstation has trophies that are obtainable by players of all playstyles.
Typically they involve: Completing the Main Storyline, Crafting, light PVP, and Side Quests.

FFXIV is the only one to require a Raid. Not just any Raid, THE ENDGAME raid to end them all.
Which is a problem.

That said. I have reworded my post to not removing the trophy. Just removing it from being a requirement for the "Platinum" Trophy.

Seriously comparing this to the Olympics? WTF is your problem?

Most Raiders want folks who are dedicated and determined. All the trophy does is make folks run the raid and pray to get carried through. They just want the Trophy they don't give 2 shits about the Raid & everyone in it.

If anything you should support the idea.

I do not raid. Period.
I am not here to "whine" about the fact I will never even see The Coil.
I am here because compared to the other PS MMOs, this is the first one to REQUIRE a Raid to get the Platinum.
As previously stated. Extreme Primals would be a better fit than Binding Coil. Coil is the raid to end all raids.

I am a Solo player and I am damn proud. That said, you must have had some RL friends in those statics as the FFXIV PC community is not accepting of Playstation gamers.

Oh and my Olympics reference, it was an analogy and a very good one at that. Final Coil Platinum Trophy = hard to get - AND - Olympic Medal = hard to get. Not sure how my analogy is flawed in ANY WAY.

Bottom line: A large number of Raiders view Playstation players as Casuals/Hinderances/Free Ride seekers
Playstation only/majority FCs tend to be different. Obviously.

Back to my main topic.
Considering that there are still an alarmingly high number of players yet to clear Turn 3 let alone Turn 4.
The Trophy is asking A LOT...Bronze Trophies are suppose to be simple.

In my opinion Coil is a Platinum Trophy in itself...or bare minimum a Gold not a Bronze.

Your olympic analogy is correct in the fact that a gold medal is hard to get.
I am also correct in saying that...

They can train all their lives and never make the cut for the Olympics.
Thats the cruelty of the world.

FFXIV is not the Olympics in any way shape or form.
A videogame will never, ever, EVER compare to a Real Sport. Period.

So you feel this game should have a trophy that is near impossible to obtain by the audience the game is aimed at...we all know the game is aimed at Casuals.

Even so, FFXIV is by far one of the most content balanced games I have ever played.
Content for Casuals, Solo, Hardcore, Raiders.
It keeps a casual pace yet manages to keepa challenge for those who seek it.
And for the most part the game doesn't force you to run content you dislike.

Which is why I am saying that this Trophy goes against the game.
It forces Raid gameplay.
I could tolerate it if it was say...
Crystal Tower (The Casual Raid as folks call it.)
Hell maybe if the Trophy was: "Enter The Coil of Bahamut" or "Unlock The Coil of Bahamut"
But "Clear The Coil of Bahamut" is overkill.

It forces Casual gamers into extremely uncasual content.
It really that big a crime to feel that its wrong to have a Trophy that would require a player to become not only a "Hardcore" player but a Top Tier cream of the crop player to get?

Hardly counted as a Raid imo. Unless you mean its cheap kills. But thats all Destiny's difficulty is.
(Strikes only challenge were the Bosses who were only Giant Bulletsponges with attacks that more or less could be described as Gatling Rocket launchers.)
But I already cleared VOG.
Destiny has nothing on FFXIV and I mean that literally.
If anything it made me appreciate FFXIV more than ever before.
Since we are on the topic...folks on the Destiny Forums have suggested/petitioned that trophy be removed.
Bungie won't add Matchmaking so players can't go and roll the die and possibly "get a good PUG" for it.
So folks feel it is a nigh unobtainable trophy.
(I would not be surprised if the players are just tired of the ordeal they go through just to get 6 players together.)
Also Destiny is a FPSRPG with MMO like traits. Not an MMO so I do not believe it can fairly be compared to FFXIV.

I would like to know wich "other MMOs" you say that do not require end game content for the Platinum. As far as I know, every game requires you to play ALL of its contents to get the Platinum. The case is that, when it comes to MMOs, it usually involve contents that require a high skilled and commited group of players.

I don't see a reason to remove this kind of requirement do platinum. If Platinum is about to say "hey, I have beaten all the shits this game have to offer", the least is to beat the final PvE content. And guess what, they don't even require the savage mode!


And for the "PS4 scum" and whatever, it do exists. But means nothing if you are a skilled, commited and, well, -raid- player. For instance, in my FCoB group, we have 2 players on PS4. One of them uses teamSpeak for PC, and the other (my GF) uses TS for Android. Actually, My girls game is smother then mine, since I play on my Notebook and it's not a top one. She also can stream / record the kills without any frame drops.

For Destiny, the raid can be a problem not because it's dificult or anything, but because Destiny is poor on social features. The game does not offer you any tools to make it easier to raid. Not text chat or voice chat at town, no match making, a poor in-game, party only, voicechat...
