    Maybe if teleport ability was to be a reward for possibly doing a hard high level quest?
    That way newbies have the ability to venture and learn the game better and use chocobos and airships.
    Once they reach a high lv and do a quest etc or wtv. They earn the ability to get around faster as a reward for playing the game and attaining a high rank.

    Sadly, if WoW is any evidence, no one actually bothers doing that. The world is basically a void for levelling up and PvP rather than exploring and getting to and from dungeons. With the arrival of instant warps to dungeons came laziness and very few players will ever venture to the dungeon on foot when they can simply teleport there and do other things in the interim.

    If such a system were implemented in FFXIV, you can bet a large number of people will either be (a) shopping in the market wards, or (b) working on their crafting skills or (c) filling in a few leves while waiting for groups, safe in the knowledge they can instaport there.

    It makes the world feel very uninhabited, and with FFXIV already feeling like that in some places I have to voice a strong opposition to that idea. Sorry.

    You, a player with alot of gametime, are not going to see players with limited game time in the world, regardless if there is a teleport feature in the game or not.
    In other words, trying to keep a game world populated by using game mechanics to force players to play in such a way they find unappealing/waste of their gametime will lead players to seek out other games to play instead that will cater to their ideas of appealing gameplay.

    Options in a game are a great way to keep players playing a game and a way to attract more players to play a game, and Yoshi-P realizes this, thankfully, as he stated here:

    Again, the option to teleport would not remove your preferred option to walk/chocobo/airship - therefore players like you would still have the options that appealed to them.

    Are you afraid there are not other players such as yourself who prefer to walk/chocobo/airship?

    Read this thread, there are many players like you in FFXIV, just like there are many players like me in FFXIV.

    The only change with this feature would be players like me would enjoy the game more and would be more likely to continue playing.

    Players like you are already enjoying the game because your preferred options are already in the game. (and planned for patch 1.19).

    Disagreeing just to disagree doesn't mean anything.

    Saying why you disagree and how it negatively affects your gameplay means something.

    Answering my post is how the devs will learn to make the game more appealing, not just saying you disagree and players with whom you disagree must be forced to comply simply because you disagree for no reason.
