If you're going to include fights in a game which have a DPS check then you should include a way to see your DPS.
The first set of adds contain no mobs that need to be killed. As long as someone runs into the field of one with a laser(4 of them spawn in the first group, I'm not 100% certain about how many lasers are in the second group) it will both stop charging the boss and despawn on it's on when the second group of them spawn, without being attacked, not to mention none of them attack. On Glasys there are a lot more than just 4 fields popping up. I've never sat around and never killed them either, which means more DPS getting off boss. And if melee, that is a second or two of not doing DPS while they are running to the laser circle to DPS it. And if they get there first, then that DPS has completely stopped their DPS. Which sucks more for MNK, they have to spend a few rotations to get back up to speed.
Snip the rest.
The rest of what I said isn't really countered by your points though. If for some reason 2 ranged dps and 1 tank can't kill the adds during atomos, it's a problem with them not maximizing their dps and has little to do with the melee who are supposed to be attacking atomos.

There're fights that require a DPS check, the only way to actually get a clue if someone is not pushing enough is by using parsers. Basically, it's something that is NOT bad for MMOs since they're necessary for certain contents to have an understanding, with some real numbers, of the situation. People who are writing or saying that the use of them should be forbidden definitely never did raids. You get kicked for not making enough DPS where it's critical to reach a specific amount? Your fault. You shouldn't complain... just improve.
It could, but those people are more likely to be disappointed than anything. Those who require parsers/request parsers tend to be those who blame everyone else for a wipe and tend to be the first to leave on a wipe.
Maybe it's different in FFXIV, but I doubt it.
This is a complicated problem IMO.
On one hand, this is an RPG, and I hate RPGs that purposefully exclude information from you just because. On the other, there's a real benefit sometimes to not knowing 100% of the math behind what's happening, because it helps the game FEEL like a game, and not a math equation. This is likely why FFXIV doesn't include DPS meters to begin with, despite the game (and all its skills and trials) clearly being very heavily based on it.
I think Square wants to limit the idea of class optimization by skill rotation to self-experimentation and a bit of guessing. And I can't really complain with that.

Absolutely not bad. Endgame raids have strict DPS checks and players should be able to know how much damage they're doing.
It's a handy feature imo, but not essential. Every now and then you get curious of how much damage you actually do.
Parsers that show others' DPS need to stay illegal. Nothing constructive ever came from those things, either in XI or here. Anything that only shows one's own performance is perfectly within bounds and I'd be more than OK with SE developing something along those lines. Too many people have shown that they are not mature enough to handle a tool that displays other players' performances.
To be fair I think being able to see where I rank amongst the dps pushes me to do better. I suggest a compromise, show bars/stats for all dps but only disclose your own name. That way you can see if you are doing well without providing targets for people to rage at.Parsers that show others' DPS need to stay illegal.
