This is not mine own healing horror story, but my hubby's. it's is not to bad, but still.

I need to do complete some dungeons for my relic book and one of them was Tam-Tera. Not hard at all. So, I asked my hubby and he was okay with it. He goes as Scholar and I as my monk. In the dun we get a lvl 16 archer and a lvl 30 tank. I'm still thinking this will be cake. So, after my hubby stone skins we are ready to go.....but, the tank doesn't move. I'm asking me hubby what wrong. He doesn't no either. The tank seems to be afk for a while and I'm starting to get a bad feeling in my gut This goes on for a few minutes, until the archer decides to pull. I end up tanking. >.> Then the tank starts to kinda tank but, mostly stands around watching me tank the mobs. After a few minuets he says One minute and then: okay go.

My hubby was asking me to kick him, but i didn't want to. >.< ended up doing it anyway. Plus it seems the tank was just learning. But at lvl 30? And know this person was not new to the game. Had a level 50 black mage all ready. T_T sigh Why can't I jut get good groups. I don't the best, just good enough to get by.

I prefer to tank, but every once in a while, I'll heal or dps. Frankly, I play all the classes because if there's one thing I've learned from trying to teach other people the mechanics of a class, it's that you never want to hear the words "You don't play this, so you don't know", so yeah, I play everything. I don't know if I have a SINGLE horror story, but just a list of things that I, as a tank, when healing, I cringe and cry when I see it happen. Here are a few.

1. The tank throws on a defensive debuff before pulling. I hate this. I’ve already thrown out stoneskin or Adloquium, why do they need to waste 3-5 seconds of Rampart or Foresight for?

2. Flash, or lack there of. This one is just common though, so common, I’ve started doing what many healers do, no heal until a little bit of aoe agro gets established. MANY a tank hath fallen to the mercy of my wrath. What’s great is in most of these cases, the dps pick up at least two mobs, and I can easily heal through the rest.

3. The tank doesn’t move out of orange cones and circles. An occasional one, that’s fine. But if you’re going to yank together two groups of enemies and stand in the fire while I’m level synced, you’re about to learn all about how I think you’re an idiot. I expect to see movement, or your butt is hitting the pavement.

4. Melee DPS who do the same thing as above. Again, an occasional accident, I’ll forgive, but if EVERY Aqueous Discharge hits you, then I’m probably gonna finish off your last sliver of HP.

5. Range DPS that stand in melee and also do the same thing as above. You are a ranged attacker. There is no reason you should be able to AA the mobs with your staff… back up! If the melee dps are squishy, then your cloth covered rear is gonna be a great big pin cushion.

Generally speaking though, I prepare for these problems. In higher content, I run WHM, where 9 times out of 10, the people I am playing with are a bit more competent. Lower stuff, I go SCH, because if nothing else, I know my fairy can at least take a hit, and hey, 2 healers for the price of one.

I don't have any one particular story, but oftentimes tanks seem to be in a huge rush to get through a dungeon, even if you let them know that you're on your first time run. I don't know how many times I've had a party wipe because the tank pulls as I'm typing things like "I'm low on mana, just a sec" or "let me make sure I know what's up with this boss before we roll in." which is always followed by a mechanics heavy boss fight that I could really use a chance to verify what's going on before we start.

'Stonerbro Potsmoke' The slowmo tank "I gotsta hit dis bong real quick bro!"

'Secksy Catbutts' The 13 y/o boy who plays the anorexic cat girl, and runs around like he forgot to take his ADHD meds "Gay! Suck! Fail! Penis!"

'Catbutt Secks' The counter part to the last titstick

The Catbutt twins will Leeroy Jenkins a room before Stonerbro even realizes he's been moved into a dungeon, much less added to a party.

Catbutt twins are now running around in a circle shouting "Gay! Tank Sucks! LOL! Penis!"

Stonerbro is following them Benny Hill style "Stop movin bro! I can't move and attack bro!"

I get frustrated chain cast heals till I get all agro and just stand in one spot healing myself while Stonerbro and the Catbutt twins dps everything down.

Catbutt Twins- "Lol! CNJ Suck! Tank Fail! Penis!"

Stonerbro- "wtf bro! lemme tank bro!"

When I was in Sastasha (Hard) and with the tank, who is a "powerlevel guy, who has deadline".
It was a horror. All of the party member, except him of course, the tank (the powerlevel guy) gave me commendations and thumbed me up when it ended.

Also, in Temple of Qarn (Hard) a warrior tank, who had a really big ego, was trying to tank like a paladin does. It was a Horror too.

my story isnt really a healer one, since i was on tank (but i do heal and know what it feels like to be in those moments)

leviathan ex, about 20% left on levi, and big add spawns, tank tries to keep the add stunlocked, and a mnk in the group insisted on spamming their stun moves causing it to resist stun. the larger mob has enough time to cast hysteria

just so happens, all dps walk off the edge along with 1 healer, leaving just a the two tanks and one healer to try to finish levi ex (i was one of those tanks)

sadly, i couldnt stop from laughing because i called it almost as soon as the mob spawned over mic to two people i was in group with

I've been noticing this a lot recently. Mages (and even Bards) that will get into melee range for no reason.

I'm fine if they feel that the AA increases their DPS enough to warrant it AND they dodge AoEs (except Bards, Bards need to stop it). But if they are a mage who just walks up there for no reason and can't dodge AoEs because "I was casting" they need to stay out of Melee range, because I'm not going to be healing them if its a big Pull.

In general I've been noticing a lack of awareness in most people I DF with. I'll rarely get a fully competent group. Usually there is one person who can't avoid AoEs and/or messes up Enmity.

Short one (Lucas/SCH Player):

Went to do Pharos Sirius for the first time, I've read up on it and knew what to expect. I know it can be difficult for first timers, especially healers. But I just got my Soldiery Robe and I thought my ilvl 73 would be enough.

Well, I get in and tell everyone its my first time. Nothing.

Then the tank runs off without Protect/SS/Adlo and pulls a HUGE group. I try my best: Using E4E, Lustrate, Healing as fast as I can, Rouse+Fey+Whispering Dawn. The Tank falls quickly, and the Melee DPS falls at the exact same time. Neither of them dodging out of AoEs. Check Tank gear and he's trying to Spiritbond DoW equipment.

So I said "screw this" and left. I'll try it later, but I'm not dealing with that.
