I don't know a single person who likes the current Final Dungeon Boss BGM.
What's the current expert dungeon boss BGM? Beneath Bloodied Banners from 1.0, right? That one is great, you're high.

Firstly, there are only 3 previous Final Fantasy battle themes remixed in FF XIV:
bgm_event_clashonthebigbridge.scd which is the music from FF V, playing during the Gilgamesh Trial Duty Finder of the same name. I love it.
bgm_event_orthros.scd which is the theme playing during Dragon's Neck Coliseum (fight with Ultros & Typhoon in the trial of the same name) That's FF VI's Boss Battle theme. Pretty sweet but a bit short.
bgm_event_ff2bossbattle.scd & bgm_fate_ff2.scd are the same FF II theme. Used in some FATEs. Sounds more like a joke theme than anything.

Secondly, screw your Cash Shop suggestion.
In WoW and some other Blizzard titles, and IIRC some other oldschool games you could unpack and/or not even need to, to access music files, eventually even pasting your own int he same file format and naming structure to have those played instead...
Since they said they gonna release their API for addons in the future maybe we can dream... Music file here is SCD file format which is the same as in FF XI and FF XIII. It's just an OGG container.

Finally. To hell with you all. The post is aimed at the Devs, I posted in General so folks could suggest/add FF titles that had BGM they enjoyed.
I like the boss themes, all of them, especially the one you here in every low level dungeon.
People are not upset about the idea of adding an option to change the music you hear in places but are against the idea of adding it to the cash shop. If you did not suggest adding stuff to the cash shop then nobody would be upset. I love the coil boss theme but I agree that it would be nice to change it to something like Gilgamesh or Leviathans theme every now and they for variety, just not if it includes me paying real world money for a feature.

The only good songs in my opinion are the battle song used in the hydra fight. And shiva ' s song. All other songs are not pleasing to me.

I would like to have limsa's 1.0 battle theme to be my default battle music.

For me best BGM is Praetorium especially Ultima weapon, turn 12 and 13 of coil battle music is pretty awesome. turn 13 Boss music is totally my fave now (used to be ultima).

Shiva, I love the music from the first half, 2nd half? Nooooooo! too cheesey XD an operatic score would have been better in my opinion.

Majority of the tracks are single 30 second or so loops - The battle theme is the same theme with different instruments. They even butchered down some songs to a short loop from 1.0 to use in ARR. For example Phantoms on the Lake was a true masterpiece of a battle theme, it not only fit Mor Dohna perfectly, but it was sequenced in such a way you can tell it was designed with boss fights in mind as by time you're in the peak of battle it transitions over, rather than hearing the initial first section of the song.

You said yourself, it's subjective, you find it a 'masterpiece' and wonder how anyone cannot, that goes against saying it's subjective.

The current ex ones are the original boss theme from XIV 1.0, satasha is Beaneath Bloodied Banners and in the case of Snowcloak, the battle theme from Coerthas.

I personally and burned out the default Battle bgm.

My god people...folks keeps saying they want variety yet when folks make suggestions you attack them blindly.
This is why you can't have nice things.

The 1 thing I remember multiple folks liking about the FFXIII & FFXI events was the music. So why not have an option to use it in game?

The problem isn't that you posted in general about this topic. The problem is you getting defensive because others don't agree with you. Secondly its unbecoming of you to assume that others don't like the current themes. Maybe you yourself do not like them, and maybe everybody you come into contact via the game feels the same way. However, here in general most people will tell you what is on their minds.

To my point, this is FFXIV not FFXI or any other version of the FF franchise. This game was developed as a stand alone game. So I can see why SE would pay homage to previous games, but not outright adding in scores of previous music. The intent I think is to develop something entirely different. Before you go on the defensive I am not mocking your request of nice things, but some of us already think that what we have is nice. Also I don't post in these forums often, but one thing I know for sure is the Cash shop thing is a big no no to most of the community. Also from the previous post most are not disagreeing with you on having more music. They are just disagreeing with the cash shop idea you mentioned.

Last if you aimed this at the devs you should have probably posted this in a suggestion section of the forums.

    Regards ~

That's actually incorrect - there is far more than just 'three' tracks from previous FF games - naturally the three you mentioned are the obvious examples, but there are far more than just these three:

Battle I from FFII (Nobuo Uematsu) - remixed as Battle 1.X by Masayoshi Soken and used as a special battle theme in various places in the game
The Decisive Battle from FFVI (Nobuo Uematsu) - original version used in the Ultros and Typhon battle, as you stated
Battle With Gilgamesh/Clash on the Big Bridge from FFV (Nobuo Uematsu) - remixed as Battle on the Big Bridge Reborn by Masayoshi Soken and used fittingly in the Gilgamesh battle

Here's some more earlier FF themes you've missed (several are not actually battle themes, but I included them because they're used as such here in FFXIV):

The Altar Cave from FFIII (Nobuo Uematsu), remixed by Masayoshi Soken, Nobuko Toda and Yoshitaka Suzuki (Film Score) as two different styled tracks used in the Labyrinth of the Ancients (Hubris and Ever Upward)
Battle II from FFIII (Nobuo Uematsu) - remixed as Tumbling Down by Masayoshi Soken, Nobuko Toda and Yoshitaka Suzuki, and used as the 'final' boss theme in both the Labyrinth of the Ancients and Syrcus Tower (fittingly)
The Crystal Tower from FFIII (Nobuo Uematsu) - remixed by Masayoshi Soken (the exact title of this remix is unknown), and is used as Syrcus Tower's theme
Feast of the Ladies from FFXI ~ A Shantotto Ascension (Naoshi Mizuta) - remixed by Mizuta slightly as Reign of Pain, and used during the FATE for the FFXI crossover event
Blinded by Light from FFXIII (Masashi Hamauzu) - original version used during the FATE battles for the FFXIII crossover event
Sabre's Edge from FFXIII (Masashi Hamauzu) - original version used during the FATE battles for the FFXIII crossover event
Fat Chocobo's Appearence from FFIV (Nobuo Uematsu) - remixed by Masaysohi Soken and fittingly used as Fat Chocobo's mount theme

And that's to say nothing about the return of various 1.0 battle themes as well, like Primal Judgement, Nemesis, Phantoms on the Lake and Beneath Bloodied Banners. But I digress...

Uh, I have no idea about FFXIII's music files, but FFXI's music file format was actually .bgw (in fact, the filenames when updating the game clearly listed them as such). Technically it was a form of wave file which meant you could technically drop in another music file in .wav format renamed with a .bgw extension as the actual FFXI file it was to replace, but often it wouldn't cue properly (and several files would crash the game, such the one for the Mog House BGM). FFXI literally had folders full of literal music files which was not very secure (and hence were easily pirated, which is the reason for the change to the system used now in FFXIV which is not as easy to access. But it hasn't stopped determined hackers from datamining the music files and gaining access to them sadly).

    Thank you for the info!

The themes I was referencing were: "A Fine Death" <---Normal Dungeon Mini-Boss Theme.
And the theme that most folks in-game have seem to dislike is: "Nemesis"
That said...Nemesis fits some boss battles, but it feels less climatic then "A Fine Death"

I assume it's because A Fine Death hits the right notes, cries of excitement, desperation, with a touch of the Crystal Jingle famous is all FFs.
