That's actually incorrect - there is far more than just 'three' tracks from previous FF games (several are not actually battle themes, but I included them because they're used as such here in FFXIV)

And that's to say nothing about the return of various 1.0 battle themes as well

FFXI literally had folders full of literal music files which was not very secure (and hence were easily pirated, which is the reason for the change to the system used now in FFXIV which is not as easy to access. But it hasn't stopped determined hackers from datamining the music files and gaining access to them sadly).

Yeah I somehow missed FF III's battle theme used in Crystal Tower... I've only been there 5 times lol. And didn't play FF III since a loooong time ago (It was just a blang rpg imo)

I didn't play any FF game after X. Didn't play XI, XIV 1.0 & XII since I've read awful reviews about those games. XIII still feel like a new game for me, I don't have a PS2 anymore, nor do I plan on purchasing a PS3/4.

But I'm pretty sure the topic name is BATTLE MUSIC PACKS DLC... Environmental themes are not on topic.

I may have confused XI with XIV 1.0 music files, since for me both were MMORPG to avoid like plague (after reading multiple reviews at the time)

You can get the FFXIV 1.0 songs from an old installation... they are under the folder "SquareEnix/FINAL FANTASY XIV/data/07/FE/0/". Rename the various files to .scd and they will swap in

It's probably sad that XIV 1.0's music files were pirated (never listened to that soundtrack) but the topic here is about changing musics you dislike hearing. Not about pirating files and uploading them on pirate bay or w/e is the new hipster pirating website nowadays

About datamining: It's thanks to datamining that database websites exist. Or that people actually bother putting up screenshots of relics WAY before people get them.
