Please Let Us Max all Desynthesis Skills

I was one of the proponents of having specialization but now I think this is too much of a pain. If I want to switch main jobs now, I lose the ability to need on loot that I have deynthesis levels in (unless I completely reset my desynthesis *shiver*).

I'm a tank and I have BSM, ARM, GSM. GSM will always be useful but the others not so much. It may seem like a silly thing to some people but the need looting was the big part of my decision to max certain desynthesis skills.

It just seems weird in a game where you can play every job to have this kind of specialization. If someone gets bored of a job and wants to change jobs for a while, they shouldn't be penalized for it.

    Thanks.

I don't get why they have a such a restriction to begin with.

They're trying to push for specialization without hard-restricting anything.

My solution for this problem is to have a Desynth Request option similar to Materia Melding.

I would add a craft request option too, that can help.

Please allow us to manually lock our desynth level, there is a way around it but still we shouldn't deleveling, it takes alot of work and gil to level

I'd have preferred if Desynthesis Skill was the crafting version of Stat Point Allocation, in that you get 300 points to allocate (assuming everything is at 50) and can reset them with an item similar to Keeper's Hymns. In fact I believe they added items like that in 2.4? Current system those items make little sense to me, I'd have preferred it if those items boosted your Desynthesis skill rather than reset it to 1... I'm glad in the real world reading a "For Beginners" book doesn't instantly make you forget everything you know on the subject matter...

Doesn't that rub anyone the wrong way, in a game that has a strong multi-class system at its core - as one of its major drawing forces over other MMOs? @.@

XI was the same, you could level any job but you were limited by how far you could take craft skills. It use to be a 100 cap, with being able to take all crafts to 60 and then having 40 points you could distribute between the crafts. The last update changed it to being able to get them all to 70 and a cap of 110 but the point is XI is a game where you can lv every job but they still put specialization in the crafting aspect.

Much like gearing your DoW and DoM you can be a jack of all trades or a master of one. Crafting should be the same in some respects, I like the desynth limits it makes it so people can't just do everything themselves.

it also has a sneaky little secondary thing to it: If you're specialized, it means you're more likely to turn things in for GC seals, and thus be less miffed when new content comes in that requires them.
